Bern would be a pretty great place to do a PhD.

Apologies if my tone alienated you, Jean. But for a fixed number of jobs, hiring is zero-sum. Demographic preferences disadvantage competing candidates, and if merit-based selection would have produced a different result, those who lose out have every right to feel aggrieved.

The holding of hands, kumbaya stuff doesn’t interest me. European tech, human verification, innovation. Those things do. I don’t know much about Anna Zeiter, but I sense dynamism and entrepreneurship in what she’s doing, and I’d like to echo those instincts. That’s what Europe needs.

I strongly believe that everyone should be welcome on W, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, skin colour, origin, religious or political beliefs, as long as they can verify they are human and behave toward others in a civil and lawful way. We don’t need W to become another echo chamber.

Human conflict is inevitable. What concerns me more is disproportionate tribal noise: the kind that narrows the field of possible action and forecloses opportunities that might otherwise exist.

Early days, mate. 😂

My view is that W needs time and space to develop its own culture, rather than simply import the norms of elsewhere. If it ends up with the same conventions around discourse, moderation and political disagreement, it risks losing the chance to discover a new equilibrium.

That is very encouraging to hear. My view is that W needs time and space to develop its own culture. If it simply imports the norms of Bluesky, it risks losing the opportunity to become a genuinely distinct platform.

Just because I comment, like or share content on W doesn’t mean I endorse a particular political position. I want W to be a place for open, fair and unbiased debate where different perspectives can be heard and challenged. Everyone is welcome on W. We need more dialogue and less polarization.❤️

Why does it keep saying “invalid handle”? There’s only one Cade worth listening to in this world, mate.

Some may join W to make a political statement. Fine. Its real edge is human verification, and platform integrity means defending that standard. Accounts producing nothing but AI-mediated spam undermine intellectual diversity by diluting real voices. Kick them out.

If W turns into another echo chamber, it will fail. Stay professional, uplifting, and grounded in strong values. Build a distinct audience instead of importing Bluesky’s grievances. Do that, and W can genuinely rival X’s slop machine.
