The "art isn't accessible" thing has always been so funny to me because AI requires a device and an internet connection as well as tokens in some cases. Things that are way less available than a pen and paper.

Did a bit of gift art for @cactasorn.bsky.social this last week! Always loved a lot of the outfit designs they come up with for their characters, so I figured I'd take a shot at something with a bit of vibes from my game/worldbuilding!

Wolf in Pink Wool

Respect does go to people who achieve it traditionally. I love graphic arts achieved through screens, masking, airbrushing etc The respect for the work lies in different places, but both mediums are valued by me

There are many examples of flat artwork that can exist traditionally by use of masking, screening, airbrushing and flats that are impressive! And can be done digitally without it being a "mirror" of traditional work. Same thing achieved in different ways. The artistic intent remains the same

By saying that good digital art simply tries to mimic real life textures and mediums is fully subjective and you are welcome to that. Plenty of great art exists with flat colors that don't try to mimic real life texture and mediums Is music only good if it's heard in person and not duplicated?

I don't know how that makes digital art "bad" though. I think there is a weight of importance and value to a piece that exists in reality- specifically when it can only be viewed and appreciated fully in person, but that doesn't devalue other mediums.

Is music "ass" if someone used studio software to tweak it or place notes how they see fit? Is it bad if it wasn't all played on instruments in one go? This just sounds like an unnecessarily bitter and arbitrary rule to follow. I've never look at digital art and wish it was traditional

Pre Frame-gen Unreal seemed alright when the dev was competent and stripped the visual features down to what was actually necessary. I'm reminded of how Unity got a bad wrap because only *FREE* users had the logo splash screen, so every bad unity game showed the logo while good ones didn't.

I am a little sad to see people immediately go onto the "It looks like bad unreal engine" when I've come to associate unreal engine with megascans, blurry framegen, metahumans, bad particle effects etc. The "Nintendo hired this man" thing seems a bit forced

I think people would've called the OoT remake generic no matter what direction it took, there's no winning with remakes. Someone is going to dislike it. Yeah I know, the tunic is overdetailed but I loved the environments and small flourishes in sound and animations

Quick method for clean base-flats The ❌ doesn’t necessarily mean “wrong”, I just needed a way to show that it wasn’t the method I was going for. I shrink the selection to reduce artifacting. Useful whenever my line brush is textured or partially transparent

I know you can change the tolerance level, but can you grow or shrink it by X pixels after the initial selection? This is super important for lineart since I can't get by off of just the initial tolerance-based selection. I have to grow it into the lines by 2-3 pixels or so

Being unable to grow or shrink the selection :I Unless they added that within the last year. I touch ProCreate maybe once a year for the radial symmetry modes after I switched to Art Studio Pro

Radio or algorithmic streaming services keep veering me away from hearing the entire catalogue an artist has. Feels like I'm just listening to their top 20% of songs unless I go out of my way to play a specific album or song
