I think that (aside from the obvious bigotry) it might be due to the gender of the subject who's being sexualized. Hypersexualized women in ads, movies, anime, video games, etc. are commonplace while sexualized men tend to raise more eyebrows. We must normalize men being slutty 😇

You're stronger than a lot of people I know. For a lot of them, the experience of dating is horrible, but they still go back to it because the alternative is much harder - taking a step back and working on the stuff that makes it so miserable for them in the first place.

I think that a lot of us approach dating apps with the wrong expectations. Add to that the isolation a lot of queer people feel, the beauty standards, the hook-up culture, etc. it's basically a build-an-incel machine for someone who doesn't know any better.

There are a lot of incels who seem like good guys at first. Many of them, you'd look at and think "why is he so unpopular, he seems sweet" and then, you hear what they have to say and you go "ooooh... I see".

Yeah, it's a struggle... Sadly, if they're left unaddressed, these feelings can be the beginning of the pipeline towards inceldom which is its own kind of toxicity. I think we need to make kindness and compassion mainstream in our community, for everyone's sake.
