Mean Spirited by Nick Roberts. This is a really really fantastic horror story that gets julius ceasered by exposition in the final third. Youve got such a good set up, intriguing characters, and a damn good monster, and it just gets trampled over by a straight hour and a half of exposition-

Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Diniman. Holy fuck this book is hype. John Normal Man gets warped into sword art online. this book has such an incredible sense of humor and shockingly good social analysis. I love this book so much

New year new bookthread and were starting 2026 with a fucking banger. Fantasticland by Mike Bockoven is one of the best books i have ever read. I was not expecting this book to easily rival king and barker with how believable the characters are and how gripping the plot is -

I cant tell you anything about this game that you haven't already heard a million times before. Playing a game in high school that rewarded me for being openly gay was pretty awesome though im not gonna lie

This game and ocarina are probably why I'm such a massive fan of horror. You can laugh if you want but this game was fucking terrifying for a single digit kid. Bogmire is straight up nightmare fuel (and not just because hes a shit boss) None of the sequels held up to this one, sorry.

Local 90s baby grew up with ocarina of time, unprecedented news, scandal of the century. I had such an insane crush on princess ruto as a little kid. Also this could probably count as like one of the first games i ever played. At the age of 5 nintendo taught me that mean women were neat.

Played this game when i was like 9 or so and Axel and Roxas was my gay awakening. Also replaying this game as an adult on critical mode was insanely fun. Fuck you Demyx I came back 20 years later and beat you on a harder difficulty

Caaxis Bluebun @caaxis.bsky.social · 26/01/2026

Good ass fucking game, the player freedom and flexebility of builds is so fucking peak and the environmental damage options are so god damn fun. Also easily the best role playing game ive played for getting lost in the role play

Horror Movie by Paul Tremblay. Last book of the year and this one fucking broke me. The entire book is a performance, show to the world what movies can show and books cant, through a book. The book jumps from screenplay to autobiography seemlessly and you can feel the tension solidify in your throat

Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. This was a really good book and had such an insanely unique premise that it really delivered on well. Ghost story told from the perspective of a 5 year old girl whos being haunted. The scariest parts of the book by far are when the adults start reacting-

Misery by Stephen King. So funny enough the movie adaptation of this book has been one of my favorite horror movies since i was a kid. I'd actually figured i might as well not read the book since id seen the movie so many times but a youtuber i watch (shoutout to Davis Morgan) recommended the book.

The Troop by Nick Cutter. Holy fuck dude. Congratulations Nick Cutter for being the first thing to make me cry in over 2 years. That ending stabbed me in the gut and twisted the knife jesus christ. im actually not going to discuss a lot of the story because i want everyone to read this for themselvs

A lonely broadcast by Kel Byron. This book was so fucking good dude, one of the best audiobook listens all year, putting this one right under the stand for my favorite of the year. I fell in love with the main cast instantly. Autumn Ivy and Mr Creepypsta did such good jobs reading its insane
