You have to be citizen to vote in Australia. Though I am not a citizen. I have permanent residency before they changed the voting system. People don't pay attention here and a lot of people vote informal simply by filling out the ballot paper incorrectly.

FFS, I have regular errors mainly through spell check. Excuse the pun but people should watch their own P's and Q's.

How much of a difference would compulsory voting make in the US? Or would people treat it as a Unconstitutional? It's mandatory in Australia at all levels of politics and you can be fined. You don't register as supporting a particular party. You just vote on the day.

That looks amazingly appealing. I'm not a food nut but I enjoy good food and cooking. I work on the theory that if you can read and understand a recipe, you can cook. So I cook bouillabaisse, paella etc. I will cook a good roast and veg but I will try virtually any recipe possible.

My favourite cafe is hosting a pop up restaurant in 2 weeks with one of the original owners and chef. She cooks lovely Middle Eastern food. Can't wait.

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

I was just remembering some of the mandatory reading when I was in school so many years ago. Three Men in a Boat (To Say Nothing of the Dog) by Jerome K Jerome came to mind and I remembered what and enjoyable read it was.

I only have a limited knowledge of your political system and its difficult for an outsider to comprehend how a Constitution can't rid you of a poor leader. With the Westminster system a PM can be ousted and it happens quite regularly. A vote of no confidence, a party room "spill" and it's goodbye

To turn his back on allies and on Ukraine, to support his hero Putin is an act of despicable treachery. That he is capable of that, considering everything else he has done is not surprising. You can understand why he wants to disband the ICC.

I get in serious trouble for being blunt. I no longer have to be careful with words as I am no longer trying to win their business, I have totally turned off the filter between brain and mouth.
