Listen up! It is baby bat season! Please, please, please keep your cat indoors overnight for next few weeks. Seeing multiple cat-damaged or killed bats, some with babies attached.😪 Bats can live >20 years and have just 1 baby/year, so now's a critical time. # bats #cats #conservation #wildlife 🦇

🦇 I found this drawing done by my son back in 2002 (he's 30 now so you do the math!) Which, I think, was drawn live whilst at Shirley Thompsons, I think the Serotine might've been called Sid! Clearly, though, the GHS was not being cared for by Shirley at the time 😄

Another bat ticked off my batty wish list. Sad that the NBMP hibernation survey season has come to an end, I've spent about 22 hours in the dark over January and February at 3 hibernacula and seen around 80 snoozing bats, 8 different species, and I think that's a pretty good way to start the year!

🦇 Please do not disturb hibernating bats. Not only is it illegal to do so but it can endanger their chances of survival as they can use vital fat reserves when they become active unnecessarily. If you find a bat in an exposed location please follow the advice on our website: buff.ly/47OkUZN
