For those curious, the Packers did NOT elevate OL Mekhi Becton from the practice squad for Week 4's matchup with the Buccaneers. Given that Becton had labrum surgery in late March and, before this week, hadn't been in an NFL building since last season, that isn't surprising.

This criticism is fair. While I understand the Packers (or any team) using the early weeks of training camp to evaluate the young, unproven players, there has to be a recognition at some point if those players aren't coming along. Everyone could see the Jacob Monk plan wasn't working by mid-August.

I think this is generally true, but exceptions do exist. Kevin Zeitler and Taylor Decker weren't going to sign with just any team at this point in their careers. Both were plus blockers in 2025.
