Thank you 😊 It looks like the perfect follow up to A Growing Summer!

There was a self-named group who used to hang out in the bus stop called The Banwell Boot-Boys 🤔😁 Seriously though, that time in general felt seedier and less safe wherever you were. And probably girls never feel safe walking alone - anywhere 🙁

Well, let’s say we were singing on parallel tracks and then came together in the chorus. (I’m thinking this could be a new game in I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue 🤔). By the end, I was having a go at joining in with the digggadigga bits.

I think from this we can be sure he’s pretty much a one man guy 👍😁

The minute they sat down in their white shirts with a plate of spaghetti, I was mesmerised! I hadn’t realised they were racing – I was just amazed they could stuff down what it looked like cold congealed pasta. But I was really interested in how clean their shirts would be at the end. Good song too!

😂 That is completely bonkers! But great fun - so glad I came back and found it 😁 Also really glad they made a big thing of the chorus as I was doing my best to keep up with (my version of) the tune as they were singing - tricky! I approve of the extra bits they added to the song 👍

Nice to be able to put a face and voice to some drum beats. It’s a catchy old tune, isn’t it? And Emitt is a very American name. I can’t think of one Emitt I’ve come across in the UK 🤔

I loved how short it was! 😁

I absolutely love this one and had completely passed it by when compiling a rough list 🤦🏻‍♀️ SO happy you picked it! 🥰

010

Elizabeth Caldwell @bwodotbc.bsky.social · 13h

😂 It somehow seems forgivable if Edwyn is singing it! Maybe I’m reading too much into the ‘fond’ bit!

Elizabeth Caldwell @bwodotbc.bsky.social · 13h

You can absolutely spot that in-built sadness you mentioned. I’m wondering if the lyrics are something to do with the loneliness of gigging? Anyway, lovely pick 🥰

110

Elizabeth Caldwell @bwodotbc.bsky.social · 21h

I’ll, definitely have a listen, I’m sorry I missed it. I’ll save it for the morning, though. 🥰

I’m not sure he should’ve run away when she got arrested, but otherwise, how unlucky was she? 😂

I was living it in the mean streets of North Somerset!

👍 Indeed, and you can see how holding a cup of tea would’ve hampered some of those moves

Such a beautiful one to listen to before bed 🥰

They’ve nailed the sense of place and time in these lyrics. I love the slow, dreamy music, too. Fab pick👏👏👏😎

👏👏👏 Important time to highlight. I love those Joni songs where she just seems to meander all over the place and it’s as though she is adding a tune to whatever it is she wanted to say, rather than just speaking it.

It seems a shame that Jenny had to go get apprehended, a heckuva fate. This party was the first one she ever had attended It had to happen on our very first date Talk about an understatement! Yes Everly Brothers, I’ll say ‘it seems like a shame’! 🤦🏻‍♀️😮😂

#ClocktoberMusic #MusicChallenge Day - 8 Poor Jenny indeed! The Everly Brothers come across in this one as the kind of boys your mum warns you about! I took my little Jenny to a party last night At ten o'clock it ended in a heckuva fight… m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ljfd...

I had to Google both them (as suspected, nothing to do with Buckingham Palace) and young Emitt Rhodes. Properly new to me but very grateful to have been introduced to this cracker! As suggested I joined in with the ‘coochie coochie coo’ chorus plus tried a bit of 1960s girl dancing - waving arms 👏👏👏

Morning! Happy FD! That’s a lovely bit of Foy to be greeted with 🥰 How are you celebrating? I have the cap ready, just need to pick the moustache.

Written by Shel Silverstein I see. Can’t argue that it’s a perfect pick for this challenge and I‘m actually impressed with how well Johnny performs it…it’s just the subject matter! I get that it’s supposed to be ‘gallows humour’ and call me an over sensitive wokie but it’s left me a bit nonplussed!

This was the one I remember from the charts. It’s one of those lovely songs though, whoever performs it 😊

I think you stand a chance of selling stuff if you can sew quickly and find a nice easy pattern that you can repeat, but I know from knitting it’s a labour of love and I’m sure crocheting must be the same. It’s such a lovely talent she has – long may she continue to delight her friends and family. 😊

110

Elizabeth Caldwell @bwodotbc.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

It is still just done for friends and family? Or has she been able to do something more commercial with it? I feel people would pay good money for her designs.
