I enjoy Claude Code's sycophancy sometimes.

• Honestly, yes - for anything beyond a basic display list on macos, it's painful. Selection handling is janky, inline editing requires fighting the framework,
drag-to-reorder is fragile, and
vou end up lavering aesture hacks on top of each other just to get behavior that NSTableView gives you for free. The abstraction breaks down fast when you need standard AppKit table interactions.
It's fine on ios where table interactions are simpler, but on macos it feels like SwiftUI's List was designed without much consideration for how Mac users actually interact with lists.

So apparently trying to use SwiftUI's Text element with a Date.FormatStyle that uses a time zone is broken on macOS 15 and iOS 18. 🤦‍♂️ Here's the same code running on iOS 18 and iOS 17. Am I missing something here or is this just plain broken? #SwiftUI
