I fell in love with the grid pattern made by this scrap fabric. I am using it to try two color layers. Some gets clay-body under the slip layer, for filling with drippy glaze. Some gets an underlying slip (like the green ) and black slip painted over it. #art #ceramics #studio #wip #behindthescenes

Cake plate coming out of bisque today. It looks great until I tilt it just slightly and the knob decoration slides right off onto concrete. Using two types of clay and trying to marry them is very hard because they dry at different rates and shrink differently but it looked so nice….😭😢😫 #artfail

When we had to quarantine at the start of the pandemic in 2020, my 5-yr-old and I used to turn boxes into rooms and tape them to the outside of our window. Then we would put birdseed on the floor and sit and wait for birds to visit. Here’s our very first visitor — a chickadee! #FebruARTy #ArtYear

#FebruArty2025 day 2: shoes I don’t have shoes but I have feet. In #pottery a foot is the bottom. I prefer to do a rimmed foot to a flat foot because it gives a nice finished look and has less area contacting the furniture and potentially scratching the finish. #FebruArty #ceramics #art #ArtYear

#JanuArty2025 day 31: angle I didn’t have much of a plan for the body of this pitcher - the handle I wanted to be like a lemur tail. So I just taped off some rhomboids to see how the white and black glazes would interact without wax masking. I quite liked the effect and used it lots. #artYear #art
