Happy October! 🎃 Anyone else excited for the holiday season? Trying something new today with a different coloring style. What do you think? It was definitely a challenge without line art. I want to practice some more in this style for sure!

It aired in the early morning when I was preparing for school so I had to tape it and watch it after school. 😅Once it came on, I was very disappointed because the voices and the music was entirely different from what I was used to. 😆 Nonethless, the English series slowly grew on me and I was happy!

To round out the first Sailor Team is Sailor Venus, the soldier of love! ❤️ To continue from my previous story, I was disconnected from any Sailor Moon after moving to Hawaii in 1994. After one year, the English dub Sailor Moon started its broadcast on TV in late 1995.

I also love to heat it up a little bit because it’s so comforting to eat! Have you tried it? My other favorite part of this holiday is the abundance of various fruits such as pomelo, oranges, grapes, apples and watermelon! These also serve as good palate cleansers after eating moon cake.

The traditional moon cake has a circular shape with various designs on the outer crust. Inside is rich white lotus seed paste and salted egg yolk. Due to its sweetness, it is often paired with tea to balance out the flavors. I can only eat a quarter per serving because it’s super rich. 😅

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! 🌝 This holiday is always such a warm occasion full of yummy foods to celebrate a good harvest and family reunions. The full moon being round symbolizes harmony and unity. The highlight of it all is moon cake! 🥮

Finally starting the next Archon quest and seeing the Tsaritsa in all her glory. 🥹 It makes me think back several years when I first started playing Genshin. We've come a long way. I'm so excited to see her play style!

My favorite mochi ice cream will always be the original Lotte’s Yukimi Daifuku! The creamy and sweet vanilla ice cream is a perfect match with the thin and delicate mochi skin. 🤩 Can’t get enough! Have you tried it?

I was so eager to start the cdrama Against the Current that I watched the first episode already. That was the most heartbreaking first episode of any drama I ever saw. 😭 Give me moar! I might wait for more episodes first tho...

Today, the world is still in need of positivity and that’s why I will keep going and trying my best! I’m excited to experiment and try new things so I hope you’ll continue to ride along on this art journey with me. Thank you again for your support! 🥰 To celebrate this milestone, I’m doing a raffle!

Over the years, Bili and Bear grew into a family of silly friends. I’ve also learned and grew as an artist thanks to this experience.

YAYYYYY! We reached 5 years of Bili and Bear! 🎉 We’ve come a long way and the only reason we’re still here is because of all of you and your support! 🥹 Bili and Bear started in 2021 because the world needed some joy, love, and happiness.

But the trinkets of Sailor Moon stickers and posters that I brought with me kept me sane and grounded during those first few years in America.

000

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

After I moved, I was unhappy because everything was different in Hawaii. I could no longer eat the same food I enjoyed. There was no more Sailor Moon. 😭 Not to mention, I was thrown into first grade of elementary school where I couldn’t speak or understand anybody.

Sailor Jupiter is the soldier of thunder and courage! ⚡️ Her first appearance in the anime isn’t until episode 25. Through commercials and magazines, I already knew there were more sailors besides the first three. So the wait to see Jupiter was such a long one.

What's in Bili's bag? 👀 Not as many snacks as you'd hope... but she's got all the essentials for the perfect day! What yummy treats are in YOUR bag? 🥹 Congrats to @/drawingtomayo_ on hitting 3k on IG! 🥳

It was such a treat to hear the original Japanese voices even though I had no idea what was going on. 😆 But through this experience, I was able to marvel at the animation. This was probably what started my interest in drawing anime.

Sailor Mars’ debut completes the first trio of the Sailor Team! 🥳 They really grew on me with their friendship and teamwork. During this time, my parents saw my love for Sailor Moon. They would rent the original laserdiscs to keep me invested.

Come one, come all! It’s hot outside so why not hydrate and refresh yourself with some sweet lemonade? 🍋 Hmm… is there something off about this lemonade business? 🤔🍍 Maybe it has something to do with their secret ingredient…

000

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

I was still in kindergarten at the time. One day, my sister said there’s this new anime called Sailor Moon that I could watch if I took a nap. The show aired in the afternoon in Cantonese. That’s the beginning of my love for anime and drawing. 😌 I’ve got some more stories to tell on the next one!

000

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 22/08/2026

The second illust in my Sailor Moon series, Sailor Mercury 🫧! My fave aspect of the show that got me hooked was that the Sailor Team kept expanding. All the different personalities made it so fun to watch every week! I was first introduced to the show when I was still living in Hong Kong.

Hello Kitty pencil case, fruit scented erasers, Keroppi and Pekkle mechanical pencils (fun fact: I still have the Pekkle one!), Pochacco notebook, blue bike (my first bike that I learned to ride on), Rainbow Fish from the picture book “The Rainbow Fish.” 🥰

I seem to be drawing lots of nostalgia lately. 🥹 Here are some stationery and items I have seen and/or used when I was little. Do you recognize any of them? Read on to see what I included.

✨Today's illustration is another little trip down memory lane. Who else remembers those plastic pencil boxes for school? And JanSport backpacks?

000

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Growing up, I was always fascinated with stamps from different countries. I just loved how they came in all sorts of designs, shapes, and sizes and each one felt like a tiny piece of art from somewhere far away.

110

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 10/08/2026

I have this vague memory from when I was really little of my mom playing The Sound of Music soundtrack for me. I think she used it as a lullaby. Or maybe while I was drinking milk… Honestly, I don't know why this memory stuck, but hearing those songs now makes me all warm and fuzzy. 🥹

000

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

I can’t believe it took me 2 years (non-consecutive)! 😆 Since my art style has changed over the years, I touched up some of the earlier cards to make them look more cohesive. Which one is your favorite?

000

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

I’m so proud to announce that my zodiac tarot card series is complete! ✨ I thought it would be a neat idea to draw my OCs enacting each zodiac and so this series was started in 2024. I ended up expanding it to include more characters in order to fit each zodiac sign better.

100

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

I didn't buy it. Because it was $400. Because I didn't want to feel any more like a late 30s adult adulting. 😭😂😮‍💨 Sigh.

000

Billy / B.Wan Studio @bwanstudio.bsky.social · 05/08/2026

I've never felt like such a late 30s person until today. Happened upon a super amazing $400 Dyson vacuum at Costco. It was lightweight and fully flexible that would allow one to vacuum in the nooks and cranies. And it made me feel giddy inside. 🥹 But...

Come take a bite out of this delicious strawberry and banana crepe! 🍓🍌 But wait a minute Bear, that part isn’t edible I think… 😆 Throwback to when I tried my first Harajuku crepe. Super yummy!

Part 2 of my Oahu Food Journal is here! There are way too many iconic foods in Hawaii that I couldn’t fit in part 1. Here are some more of my faves. My ultimate fave is oxtail soup. It’s so hearty and flavorful; perfect pair with rice. Do you recognize any of these foods? 🤗

Is it even summer if you're not sipping something cold by the pool? 😎🍉 There's just something about that first juicy bite of watermelon on a hot day. Refreshing, sweet, and basically summer in fruit form! Do you have a favorite summer fruit?

Come join our cake party! 🍰 Finally getting around to do some DTIYS challenges and the first one is for @/nihorin. So sorry I’m late with this! 😭 Your OCs are super fun to draw and this makes me hungry for cake~ Your aesthetic is so pretty and inspiring, I enjoy seeing it on my feed! 🤩

Saw trailers for the new anime Goodbye Lara. The 90s style aesthetic and the feel-good theme song brings me back to the good old days. There's just something about it that feels familiar and warms my soul. 🥹😭 Can't wait to start watching when there are more episodes!

It really taught me to sit with a design and make adjustments if I’m not totally happy with it. That’s why I’ll be going back and making some minor revisions to some earlier cards. Look forward to the full series all together! ✨

I’m so happy to unveil the final card in my zodiac tarot card series: Virgo! ♍🥳 Virgos are detail-oriented, analytical, practical, and hard-working. Raise your hand if you are this sign. 🥹Over the course of this series, I learned to have patience in the process of illustrating.

Who else loves the Costco food court? 🥰 Besides being super affordable, my absolute fave item on the menu is Chicken Bake! It’s a rolled bread with chicken, bacon, and cheese. Do you have Costco where you live? What’s your favorite menu item? 😋

Happy Sailor Moon Day! 🌙 Today is also her birthday! 😁 The themes and lessons about the power of love, embracing diversity, and fighting for justice was so ahead of its time and it's still so relevant today. The world definitely needs more love and empathy right now. 🥹❤️

What’s your favorite vacation destination? Mine is most definitely Japan. There’s nothing more memorable than riding their rail and seeing the scenery go by. The city has its own charm but the rural areas are also very beautiful, too! ✨🤩

Wow, totally didn't expect so many new Genshin Impact character drops today! They all look so beautiful but of course, the real treat is the Tsaritsa! 🤩 After the loonnnng wait, she's finally here~ I'm super excited for her story arc. ❄

I had so much fun drawing this one! I feel Koby is the perfect fit for Leo. 🥹 Do you think so too? I drew two versions. Which one do you like more?

Here comes the sun! 🦁 Leo season is almost here, and you know what that means: confidence, warmth, and a little bit of dramatics (in the best way). Leos are natural-born leaders with hearts as big as their personalities. They light up every room and will fiercely protect the ones they love.

Don Quijote is my favorite supermarket and I’m super grateful there are stores in Hawaii! It’s always fun to discover new Japanese snacks, cosmetics, and other fun things.😌 Their own branded JONETZ gelato are simply heaven! This is why I always end up buying WAY more stuff than I expected. 😂
