one-shotted shields for both sides of this little mixer; im back baybeeee
A 4-in 2-out active audio mixer PCB, with two 3d-printed plates acting as shields for the sets of sockets and controls. This side shows 4 potentiometers and a 3.5mm TRS socket seated perfectly in it, with tabs holding it onto the PCB. The reverse angle, showing 5 pairs of RCA connectors, a DC barrel socket and a 3.5mm TRS socket, all similarly snug in the plate.

i have gone straight past becoming the joker to something else
Quote from a possibly-autonomous business suit:

ANZ CEO, Soraya Alali, commented:
"Australian consumers remained resilient in the second half of FY26, but ongoing cost-of-living pressures meant they continued to seek greater value and he thoughtful about where their money went. We saw our customers balancing essential household costs with the products and experiences that matter to them.”

"Across the six months, we saw customers using Zip across more parts of their everyday life, from utilities, health, insurance and groceries, to areas such as solar, home improvement and wellness," she continued.

Alali pointed to Zip Plus - the company's no-to-low interest flexible credit option for …

A power-only USB-A socket to banana jack, with the 3d-printed housing open so you can see my shitty strain relief setup. Also my beautiful grey tabby cat is on my lap because it is 3am and she should be asleep in the crook of my leg rn.Same, but with the housing closed up, showing the socket-iness more clearly. Freyja is still there.

friday night activity: cutting M2.5 threads in a coat-hanger
A coat-hanger clamped in a bench-vise, being threaded with a die and handle. Closer, showing the thread and the tapping oil behind it. A shitty threaded rod. The resulting rod, keeping a set of 3D-printed wire spools together.

Some laser-cut wooden spools, and a black 3D-printed USB A socket-plug housing, a toggle switch junction box, and a right-angled TRS plug housing.

you ever mix up radius and diameter, lose access to the source file, only realise your error after printing, and have to bodge a fix up in the slicer for attempt number two? 😅 (the correct size is on the left. oops.)

example adapter for CR2430 here: www.printables.com/model/138385... (I made one out of a couple of tiny scraps of wood before I could get to the makerspace printer, so this isn’t necessarily a requirement or anything)
A curved strip of wood approx 4mm wide with a retaining sliver of wood glued on top of it perpendicular to the curve, shoved in with a CR2032 battery in a CR2430 slot in my kitchen scales. A bigger, flat CR2430 sits nearby.

A strip of black acrylic, with a socket and fixed notch, with four other ones nearby. The baking soda container, strip of wire used as a watch oiler, a pen grinder, and a 3mL tube of CA glue.

repaired the broken lugs on my venerable, beloved Casio DB-35H; I built up layers of superglue and baking soda, then shaped it with my lil 2.35mm-shank pen grinder
The back of the watch, black plastic front casing with blown-out lugs, which stops the spring pins from staying in its little sockets. The built-up layers of glue, translucent white and greebly. The lugs, after being shaped with the grinder. It looks more white than translucent now. The spring pin reinstalled, retaining the nylon pink, white and navy NATO strap.

context: disassembling this bench to get it out of the way while I do further garage clean-up. I was worried about needing to replace the slats (felt floppy to sit on), but i think it was just the very loose bolts. it will appear on my balcony after some cleanup and reconditioning, I think.
A small (1.25m) bench, cast-iron sides and back feature (simple star/knot kind of pattern), with dark wooden slats. It’s sitting on a yoga mat in my garage, in front of a pile of wood. A rusty bolt in my hand, in front of the partially-disassembled bench. Most of the bench bits, labelled and stacked up against a garage wall.

oh my god, it gets worse
Screenshot of me searching “how many Rs are in too evolved”; clicking the Read More brought me to this expanded text:

There is exactly 1 "r" in the phrase too evolved (t-o-o e-r-o-l-v-e-d).
If you meant "Two Evolved" (like the album by The Kooks, spelled "Konk" or "Too Evolved" is often mistakenly searched when looking for Inside In/Inside Out), there are 3 Rs in total:
• 1 in Too
• 2 in Evolved (e-r-o-I-v-e-r-d)
Could you tell me a bit more about what you're working on:
• Are you searching for an album, song, or artist?

oh god it's worse; I have saved four or so times in the last 12 hours, and none of it has created a new version/revision, it's all one big Now version. or at least it appears that way from the UI; looks like it's still there behind the scenes:
Screenshot from the Fusion/Autodesk forums:

Fun fact, folks -- the versions are still there. Install the Parametric Text plugin, create a sketch, and enter a text of "v". Open Parametric text (Modify, Change Text Parameters) and click on the "v" text in the sketch you just created, and it'll select in the window. Add "{_.version}" to the "v" in your text, and click OK, and you will see the text changes to something like "v4". Save the design (without being able to say why you're saving the design, another dumb change) and you'll see that version number increments.
