21 years. I've been programming video games for 21 years. I need to do a proper deep dive on my thoughts - but I need you to know that this industry is indeed "cooked" - as the kids say.

Friday was fine. Saturday I was super tired - that night I felt awful. Sunday was worse. Took a Covid test and was positive (first time)! I was useless Monday, getting better Tuesday, and now I feel normal sick on Wednesday. I've gotten boosters every year (not 2026 yet). Careful out there folks.

DK Challenge has been defeated! The Boss Rush with no perks was frustratingly difficult - but I genuinely feel a sense of accomplishment. Physical cards reward boosted my motivation and I’d love to see more of these.

I've got no lawyer and I'm appealing a small claims case I filed. While researching, I found the PERFECT case precedent when google brought be to a casebriefly.com summary. Problem is - the case doesn't exist. Here's the surprise twist. My buddy fed my appeal to Claude and it caught the fake case.

This is what I've been up to recently. This really is a blast to play in co-op - and I helped get the crossplay working for it. Go grab a copy!

I've never seen one more infuriating than the Tim Sweeny a couple months back: "In the coming days, employers will see a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks." Imagine thinking that up and then saying it out loud to the world at large. Irredeemable behavior.

Uh - I watched the snippet and liked what he was saying in the snippet. It's important. The other snippets were not as good. He's always been a "whatever way the wind blows" guy - and that has relevance. I'll be sure to keep your thoughts in mind the next time I consider posting.

He was as close as he'll ever be to the president for 4 years and didn't do anything to indicate the status quo needed to change. I'm not sure what you were seeing there. But I've misinterpreted this speech it seems. His next comments were the same old same old about courting disinterested voters.

That establishment Dems are saying this shows that they are finally getting the message. Do they actually believe it? Will they do anything about it this time? Or is it just part of their electoral strategy? Lucy holding out the football again.

Valve tricked us by copying the Nintendo Switch and making the Steam Deck a pretty cool piece of hardware. Honestly, I don't get how this will appeal to Steam enthusiasts over a customizable PC. But this is an omen for brutal PS6 and XBOX WHATEVS pricing.

Good point. The retro integration is lacking too - with all of the retro challenges "beat this level" vs. "get all the KONG letters" or "do it in X seconds" or even "don't die". Did get me to play some DK games I hadn't bothered with and to launch Bonanza again though.

Tyler LaGrange @buzzjive.bsky.social · 18/06/2026
The retro challenges on this are absurdly easy. The DK Bonanza challenges (time/developer) are crazy hard. I love what Nintendo is doing here, but they need to fix the overall balance. Also - the integration points are great on retro, but nonexistent on Bonanza. I hope they evolve this idea.

For my first ever Father's Day, my wife bought me a ticket to game 3 of the 2006 NBA Finals for under $300. It was upper bowl, but a pretty good seat. It was the first Miami Heat Finals win ever. Crazy that tonight's Knicks game 3 is $8,000+ for last minute seats and includes Trump.

I had always heard ND was terrible to work at and their crunch ethos makes me hate almost everything that comes out of Sony in general. I assumed they'd gotten better by now - but I'm unsurprised to hear they have not. Loving your job should not also require sacrificing everything else.

Check inside an inside panel to see if the coils are frozen over. I had to replace the defrost heater thermometer in mine not long ago which wasn’t too hard and way cheaper than a replacement.

Just FYI - I applied to almost 25 jobs - 10 of which I would say I was more than 95% perfect for. I got one actual interview process from that - which led to an offer. Only 9 actually responded. Hard not to start wondering what you’ve done wrong at that point.

It started getting easier when I was on Unemployment and they required 3 applications as week. By the end I was mostly going through the motions. I mixed it up between serious or humorous cover letters. The number of people applying combined with AI resume screening makes it a terrible process.

My partner and best friend Kyle suffered from two strokes last week. We need your help. gofund.me/e25c60dfb Anything helps, a like, a share, a donation. thank you for your support during this difficult time ❤️
Support Kyle Fraser’s Recovery after Two StrokesSome of you may know I’ve been dealing with a personal matter over the last week. Most of you do not. I consider myself a very private person but I need to ask for help at this time.

Last week, my partner and best friend, Kyle Fraser, suffered from two strokes in a single day.

There is a very long and expensive road ahead, and our friends have been gracious enough to help organize a GoFundMe for anyone who wishes to offer their support. On it, we have written up more detail on his condition for anyone curious. Even a repost or share helps. The link to that is in my bio, my story, highlights - pretty much anywhere.

Thank you for your thoughts and support at this time. Apologies in advance if I take some time to reply, I’m taking it one day at a time.

For those who don’t know him, Kyle is probably the most compassionate person I’ve ever met. He is as gentle and brilliant as much as he is strong and funny. He loves his two cats Poly and Moog, and adopted them with the explicit intention of ‘which cats are you having a hard time adopting?’ Though he can be reserved and introverted, Kyle has a fierce passion for his career and will always offer a helping hand to anyone in need, often taking calls to mentor professionals beginning their career. I’ve become a better person through knowing and loving him. Photo of Kyle and I early last year

Google with Stadia definitively proved they have no idea what the gaming industry is about or what it wants or needs. There were interesting pieces in there and they couldn't get gamers and developers interested. Making a demo of new tech is easy. Making real games is beyond their capabilities.

Proud to have had the opportunity to help bring this to Steam and Rift. It’s funny and entertaining and worth playing if you’ve got a VR headset. I assume it works on Quest Link too but I haven’t tried.

AI prompt: Take this Shadow of the Colossus project and uprez the textures and increase poly count and fluff up the effects and update the API to PS6. It’s that easy! Sony is gonna save so much money.

Uh - that’s a revision of 75k down per month last year. With that baseline, the 130k this month would actually be 55k, which is a far more believable number.

Hotel Infinity is a finalist for "Immersive Reality Technical Achievement" at the #DICEAwards from @official-aias.bsky.social! Hotel Infinity was a team effort and wouldn’t be possible without the contributions from many talented people. Full list of nominees: www.interactive.org/awards/29th_...
Promotional artwork for the VR game Hotel Infinity, featuring a logo that identifies it as a finalist for the 29th Annual D.I.C.E. Awards. The game title, "HOTEL Infinity," is displayed in large, bold red serif font across the center. A thin white horizontal line separates the two words. The background depicts a low-angle, perspective-heavy view of a dense, stylized architectural environment. The buildings are light gray or white with many dark rectangular windows, reminiscent of a classic grand hotel's exterior. A single window at the top right is brightly lit with a warm orange glow, contrasting with the otherwise cool and dark exterior. This image displays five nominees for the "Immersive Reality Technical Achievement" DICE Award, organized in a table with promotional artwork for each project. Below the art, it lists the game titles, developing studios, and key team members for each entry. The games are: Ghost Town, Hotel Infinity, Marvel's Deadpool VR, Star Wars: Beyond Victory - A Mixed Reality Playset, and Unloop.
