I am at the fair today. First thing, donut for breakfast! The line seemed long but it just kept moving and only took a few minutes. My dad would have loved these. It’s like a giant Krispy Kreme but *much* nicer dough.

My dinner tonight is pan seared lions mane mushrooms with a smoky caprese sort of thing. Yesterday we smoked a bunch of things for funsies including a beautiful tomato. Now served with burrata, basil, saba and crostini.

I went to the woods and found some mushrooms. Came home and turned them into soup with leftover chicken and garlic scapes. My soup is so good.

I made this for dinner tonight with frozen hen of the wood mushrooms. Then plopped some frozen meatballs on top. So let’s all ignore those. The farro was so good tonight. It was like a farrotto, I even took the time to add liquid correctly and let it stir for over an hour ish.

I have been here before but it was fun to take David and watch him spin in circles. So many things we love to eat. We did make it home but basically unloaded and started opening all the snacks right away.

A counter full of foods. Two kinds of bread, olives, pickled veggies, stuffed eggplants, beef salami and mortadella, tabbouleh, feta, babaganoush, a lemon, a red onion. And David’s hand grabbing food off a plate.

I’m working on a bar recipe. There is little so satisfying as a well creamed butter, sugar, egg mixture. I just love to see it hit the soft fluffy stage before you add the dry stuff.

I stood on the corner with my friends and others. It felt good. We had one person yell at us in anger. And hundreds of honks and waves and well wishes. Plus other people came over to join because they heard the honking. Now I am spent. :)

I made mine in the shape of MN. I foraged the mushrooms and some of the hazelnuts this year. It was a great summer.

Somehow this was at my house. Probably for the kiddo. They did not want it I went for it. Boy pop rocks are a blast from the past for me.
