It is my birthday. I am 44. I’m celebrating in my own way. My mother approves.

A very fresh tattoo amongst older ink on a white woman’s inner elbow. It says Hag Life in black capital letters

Three messages. Message one says “Not sure what Hag Life is but otherwise very artistic!” Message two says “It means I’m embracing the hag life. It is time. I will be moving to a shack in a swap and selling curses. Personal grooming? Out. Cathartic cackling? In.” Message three says “Can I buy in bulk?”

Completed my first freelance TTRPG layout job! 🎉🎉🎉 Thanks to @nickmunroturner.bsky.social for entrusting me with this. I'm particularly proud of my hand drawn character sheet 🐙 You can hire me to do your layout too! I have examples and pricing info on my site: www.buttonkin.com/services/layout

The Rogue Octopus Escapes character sheet. A long-limbed green octopus sits in the centre of the page, wrapping its tentacles around all the various sections of the character sheet: Name, Size, Personality, Skills, etc.

Don’t tell me you’re a nerd unless you’ve been featured in the in-world magazine for your LARP being interviewed in character about your imaginary nation’s fashion trends.

A cartoon illustration of two female fantasy characters. One has brown skin, a long red skirt with a black to and a long black Cardigan with roses on. She has black hair and very heavy eye make up. The other is slightly behind her. She’s got pale skin, black trousers and a black to with many belts over the top. Her clothes are intricately embroidered. Her hair is pink and braided

An orange cocker spaniel sniffing an A5 magazine being held out to them by a pale white freckled hand. The magazine is called The Oathspike and the cover star is a lady with mid length pink hair and a black dress. The main feature says “Archmage of Night Exclusive: What YOU Should Know About What I Know”

An orange cocker spaniel looks at the camera. Next to the dog a pale white hand is holding an A5 magazine open to a page with text too small to read alongside the illustration from the first photo

@jogbrogzin.bsky.social is a wonderful cartographer whose work you’ve probably seen before. He puts together these zines of his work to inspire writers and game designers, and act as a highly effective business card/portfolio. I love the initiative and am duly inspired!

A zine and bookmark. The zine is A5 and titled Maps and Musings - a map collection by Jog Brogzin. It shows drawings of unconventional houses, most notably one that is a toadstool and one that is a standing book

This UKGE to promote my new regency horror TTRPG, The Custom of the Sea, we played a little game called “Regency but make it Horror”. The results were life affirming and silly.

Three black and white regency illustrations of a mother, father, toddler and puppy sitting around a grand fire place which have been defaced to show demons and tentacles

Three black and white regency illustrations of two gentlemen and a lady sitting around a pianoforte which have been defaced to show demons and tentacles

Three black and white regency illustrations of a gentleman carrying a lady with two hounds following which have been defaced to show demons and tentacles and ghosts

Four black and white regency illustrations of a gentleman looking panicked at a lady who stands in a window which have been defaced to show demons and tentacles and ghosts

I'm dead excited about playtesting my new game, The Custom of the Sea. Here's some reasons you should also be HYPED. 1. It's Regency. I love it. You love it. This game leans into the genre with romance and status mechanics, while adding a dash of class consciousness which is often neglected

Spent some time yesterday working on the Button Kin site. Et voila! You can now order physical copies of nearly all my games directly through buttonkin.com

A screenshot of part of a web page. At the top it shows the words "Get your digital copy" followed by two buttons, one labelled "Itch.io" and the other "DrivethruRPG". Beneath that are the words "Get your physical copy" followed by three larger buttons, each with a picture. The first shows a Drama Llamas book with the words "Drama Llamas, £15". The next shows three brightly coloured postcards fanned, these show scenes of cartoon llamas in reality TV situations. The words on this button say "Drama Llamas plus 3 one shots, £20". The last button has the same image of the three postcards with the words "Drama Llamas one shot bundle, £10".
