My third novel THE SCENT OF ORANGES is out on 4 December 2024. A vivid retelling of Dickens’ Oliver Twist from the viewpoint of Nancy, it gives voice to one of literature’s most tragic and most maligned characters. The Scent of Oranges is probably the best thing I’ve ever written 🍊

Just seen a lovely young family pass my window, dad carrying a huge tree, kids dancing along in excitement. Made me pull out of my ‘bah humbugging’ and remember Christmas has an up side. Even more so when the world is so dark and the future so uncertain
