I lost a few seconds correcting typos, but honestly this was a fast run for me, so I can't say that lost me much time.

My comics taste in four comics? (no manga on this one!)
The cover to Judge Dredd: AMERICA

A traumatized woman holding a gun stands in front of a tattled American flag, the specter of a Judge holding a gun to the back of her head. The cover to Sandman Mystery Theatre.

Laid across drawings of art deco buildings is a photo of a man in a trench coat, hat, and gas mask: The Sandman. The cover to Fritz Leiber's Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser.

Fafhrd and the Mouser stand on rooftops, battling a group of thieves' guild killers. The cover to Age of Bronze: A Thousand Ships.

Paris and Helen of Troy look out into the distance.

I only ever remember this page.
A boot fetishist tries to explain his tragic backstory to Judge Dredd, who isn't having it.

The focus is Dredd, riding his bike with a woman in bondage gear handcuffed and tossed over his lap, telling the guy "Save the sob story, creep. I wouldn't understand it -- there's nothing KINKY about the Law."

From Judge Dredd: The Restricted Files v3

That's one of the things I appreciated about the Marvel Masterworks line, they redid the colors digitally, but they stuck to the original coloring used. Too bad the same can't be said for more recolor attempts...

Tactical Knife

"Guns for show, knives for a pro" - this is a phrase that has meaning to you, somehow. You have probably spent way more money on a piece of stamp steel with an off-spec picatinny rail attachment point on it than you would care to admit. People calling your knife a ka-bar bothers you in ways you don't really have time to explain to them. You are the Tactical Knife Gay. Try extending people a little more grace when they are slow to answer your texts. After all, they don't have a combat knife.

Drop some CLOWNS
The cover of an old Champions Third Edition sourcebook from Hero Games. The title is C.L.O.W.N., with the leters all askew as they've been knocked around by the title characters. Below it are two men, one in a fancy suit and hat, the other in a bright blue and yellow jester's outfit with pale make-up and red cheeks. They are struggling to shove the Liberty Bell into the front trunk of a green Volkswagen Beetle that is *far* too small for such a large monument.

The text near the bottom says it's by Stan West.

At the very bottom it spells out what C.L.O.W.N. stands for: The Criminal Legion Of Wacky Non-conformists.

I keep meaning, and forgetting, to post this here. My witch done in a dapper suit by @yamino.bsky.social, who has an entire commission slot just for dapper suits for people to consider. Because what suits your character like a suit?
Tryse, a tall, thin witch in a dapper suit and her hair pulled back into a long braid. All green, with a purple tie. She's holding a hat and has on high heeled wingtips. Art by Yamino.

She looks kind of nervous, and that's probably because it's about to be her first date with the girl she's going to confess to. She's gonna recite Sappho at her. She's a sap. It'll work, though.

Honestly, if bluesky doesn't manage to unfuck itself, I dunno. I have a pillowfort.social account and their people seem fairly serious about keeping NSFW material on their site. They ban AI images, too. Maybe I'll gently guide people towards that as a bluesky alternative.
Hi all, we want to address some concerns that have come up in our community as a result of recent events surrounding NSFW content, payment processors, and age verification. It's clear a lot is changing recently concerning access to adult content on the web.

First, regarding the removal/delisting of "adult content" by Steam and itch.io recently: we do not expect that Pillowfort will be affected by this. For one thing, we do not sell access to adult content, so the rules that have caused Steam & itch to make these decisions don't apply for us as we are not selling games or other content.

However, even without selling adult content, simply having adult content on one's site can create issues with payment processors who don't allow clients to even host that kind of content. You don't have to worry about this regarding Pillowfort, because we have already dealt with that issue. Early PF adoptees may remember that we used to accept payments through PayPal, but Paypal closed our account without warning years ago simply because we allow our users to upload adult content. As such, we have to use a payment processor that specifically handles "high risk" clients such as adult content-related businesses. This comes with much higher processing fees than "regular" payment processors to compensate for the "risk," which adds to our financial challenges. The benefit is though, that unless something drastically changes, we should be safe from payment processor censorship.

However, if you are mad about these recent developments, we greatly encourage you to let Visa/Mastercard know! It would be a huge game changer for us if services like PayPal and Stripe could be pressured into relaxing their content restrictions for their clients.Secondly, we have been asked about the recent legislation enacted in the UK that requires sites that host adult content to require age verification, even those hosted outside the UK. This is a hairier issue since the guidelines are very loosely-defined in places, and frankly we do not yet know how this will affect us, but we are reaching out to sources that can help us navigate this. We hate the idea of forcing our UK users to submit to privacy-violating age verification, but we cannot deny that it may simply be necessary for us to implement it to avoid fines and litigation. We will let you all know if any changes will be coming as we explore our options.

Thank you all for your concern and for supporting Pillowfort through all this. It's a turbulent time on the web, and a reminder of why it is necessary for independent spaces to exist that protect the creative freedom of their users.

Best,
Staff

Again, surprising no one who knows me, I'm very fond of the old Iron Manual, that 90s 'journal' of Tony Stark's where he talks about his process of making suits. But somehow I'm not as fond when Star Wars does it. Used to love the Visual Dictionaries as a kid, not so much anymore. Dunno why.

I think I might know the one our favorite Comrade is talking about and it's after Smith. This one I'm including isn't it either, think it was after Jim Lee. I know there was a Deadpool parody of it in the 90s. Deadpool hits either Jubilee or Kitty Pryde to provoke it or something? So in the middle.
A two panel snip of a comic.

First panel: Beast throws Wolverine. Beast says "'Delgado'? There was a Major Harry Delgado commanding the SHIELD pursuit force that was captured by Magneto. Coincidence?" Wolverine, in mid-air, says "Different guy, same name. Or maybe the Major was a sleeper, workin' with the clowns he was supposedly chasin'? Or maybe he switched sides. Or maybe somebody made him."

Second Panel: Wolverine, still in mid-air, performs a flying slash on some ugly pug I don't recognize. Still talking, too. Says: "However the man came here, Beast, he means business. We can figure out the backstory after we take him down."
