can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Gottheimer for once on this one because those last few Terminator sequels were terrible!
New York Post article with the headline: Lawler and Gottheimer roll out bill targeting rogue AI agents to prevent a ‘Terminator’ sequel

I'm sure he can get a 1.6 trillion Pentagon budget passed or pass social media censorship and mass surveillance enablement bills, but if there is a democrat out there who could squander a strictly hypothetical 2029 trifecta then it's this guy.

“This does not make you look better,” added a reporter for Gateway Pundit, a far-right news site.

“There are literally thousands of fathers reading those tweets and thinking: ‘When my daughter lost her favorite toy, I led a search party as if for a downed NATO nuclear warhead. And when that failed, I paid $300 for a replica on eBay,’” posted David Frum, a former speechwriter for President George W. Bush.

Suddenly, the standoff over a toy in Ohio had sparked passionate chatter nationwide.

“Everybody gets it, no matter which side of the aisle they are on,” said Jon Krosnick, director of the Political Psychology Research Group at Stanford University. The little blue bunny, he added, “communicates so powerfully to all of us.”

Vines grew up in Wichita, Kansas, having interests in speaking, writing and the performing arts. While in high school, he created a popular fan website dedicated to the Harry Potter film series. The website, Veritaserum.com, drew more than 50,000 hits per day, and became a source of employment for him as he maintained the site and sold space within it to advertisers.[2] Growing up, he attended an evangelical Presbyterian church with his family. Upon graduation from high school, he was accepted into Harvard, where he studied for two years during 2008–2010, focusing on philosophy.[3] He then quit Harvard in order to pursue a full-time study of the Bible's statements on homosexuality in response to widespread belief that homosexual expression is disapproved of by God - a belief which was held at the time by his own parents and their family church.[4]

I think that companies that do things like boosting their own Wikipedia page over dictionary words they share a name with on search engines and placing themselves above those words in disambiguation pages should be *heavily* punished by Wikipedia.

In 2015, researchers Limb, Limb, Limb and Limb found that British doctors have surnames related to their specialties more often than expected by chance. Reproductive medicine had the largest proportion, with 1 in 52 doctors having specialty-relevant surnames including Horn, Hussey, and Woodcock. Second was urology, with 1 in 59 related names such as Burns, Waterfall, Ball, and Koch.[97] "Dr Pain" appeared most commonly in general surgery.[97]

citing the dissent in Rucho, in this case in particular, is the judicial equivalent of sticking your tongue out at the defendants.

what the fuck
The Virginia Department of Elections reported on April 30 that 1,604,276 Virginians had cast "yes" votes in response to the "restore fairness" ballot question 10 and 1,499,393 Virginians had cast "no" votes. 11 Approximately 3.38% of the total votes separated the number of "yes" votes and "no" votes, and thus, the majority will of the people was secured by "yes" voters representing 1.69% of the total votes cast.

irony is dead at Virginia's supreme court
"The purpose of Article XII, Section 1 is to give voters the opportunity to participate in the process of amending their Constitution," Justice D. Arthur Kelsey wrote for the majority. "The commonwealth in this case ended up denying over 1.3 million Virginians their constitutional right to have a voice in the debate over whether their Constitution should be amended." ...

there should probably be a lot more thought put into how the study is structured experientially for the participants, since these two sentences are the closest they get. going "LLM-to-brain" as they call it sounds demotivating in a way that "brain-to-LLM" doesn't. poor explanatory power.

anyways I'm if you think about it there are the very most vague similarities between priestess and yumemi okazaki. not in any particularly deep way but, enough to compare and contrast them. both from a highly-advanced future with dwindling room for novel scientific discovery, both of them bring a little helper along, both of them make frightening scientific advancements and use them for dubious ends, and both of them I am marginally afraid of.

or maybe - and just hear me out - the .NET team should fix their habit of treating developers like useless morons who can't do simple things right. maybe it *should* be possible to do things like making a ValueTuple have predictable ordering and not get twisted by the CLR.
