Tiona quirked an eyebrow and looked around. “Must be someone’s carbuncle.”

Taking a deep breath, the patriarch of House Leveilleur looked at her down his nose, nostrils flaring. “That’s popcorn.” He made a rude gesture at her paper bag.

Tiona’s chewing ground to a halt and she just stared at the man. “Yes, Fourchenault, I know.”

He grunted and shoved past her to enter his office proper. “Get it away from me. I hate popcorn.”

“Great,” Tiona said, dropping the bag on the threshold to Fourchenault’s office, spilling fluffy, buttered kernels everywhere. “Now I know what to get you for your nameday.”

Urianger did it! Just once, though. Alsault was a big baby and Tiona carried him very forward. She would say she looked like a hamsa. She wasn't especially ill, but she was very uncomfortable. They have a second kid, but she was adopted. Al's a cutie, though. They did good.
