The museum was closed in 1927 after the government received over a hundred complaints of a foul odor surrounding the building, possibly due to poor hygiene. The museum's most notorious artifact, the "Cursed Skeleton of Nephilim," was said to have been discovered in the deserts near ancient Babylon. The skeleton was attributed to a giant hybrid of human and animal features, which Dr. Turi claimed as evidence of the Nephilim—the half-angel, half-human creatures mentioned in Genesis. This is the last known photograph of the artifact, taken before the museum's closure. The current locations of most of the museum's artifacts remain unknown.
