We lost boosts on my server so we lost the ability to have our BBC2 Discord tag. I miss it already 😔

On this FlipFlappiversary I guess I should mention that I have a blog (untouched for 8 years) that among other things has an index of articles and interviews about Flip Flappers. Including some by myself flipflapping.wordpress.com/2017/01/10/i...

flipflapping.wordpress.com

Index of Flip Flappers Reviews and Articles

This post will serve as an index for Flip Flappers reviews, articles, blog posts, translations, videos and anything else that is seems appropriate.

Yes, I know Yayoi canonically is a Mirage 2000 pilot but she's challenging herself for once!

On the left, Yuta Tanaka talking about the changes in Toei's output causing his departure in 2024. On the right, a Nijiiro Hotaru piece from 2022 where I talked about the loss of projects that act as creative escape valves, pushing brilliant people away from the studio

This was also a super challenging translation to do as well as a challenging translation to edit due to amount of amount of technical jargon included and I'm pretty happy with the results! The original links to the interview in Chinese is included in the article as well.

Quite honestly one of the best interviews we've had published on the website. I will never skip out on a Yuta Tanaka interview to be posted on Magical Stage. I learnt so much reading through this when editing today. Please give this a read!

The online is *very* similar to Ace Combat Infinity in gameplay (good). Though I would have liked the progression that Infinity had with the aircraft tree. Don't care too much about the hub thing (apart from seeing Nuggets), though the menus definitely need improving. They're badly organised!

Doing my second run of the campaign now on the higher difficulty. Plenty of replay value in the campaign to unlock planes and parts as well as getting all the medals!

I will say there's a certain mission that I wasn't a big fan of that while narratively amazing. Is pretty anti-climactic gameplay-wise. The game almost never stops topping itself and getting crazier and crazier.

Right, Ace Combat 8 finished this morning! The latter half of the game has some of the best missions the series has ever seen. Absolutely incredible stuff.

Ace Combat 8 playthrough hit Mission 21 yesterday. M19 and 20 are full of fanservice (especially 20) and it's glorious. There's loads of little things if you've played the previous games too!

One of the baddies in the game essentially is a Char clone except without a mask. They should have gone all the way and gave him one.

Also on a Framework Laptop 16 with the RTX 5070 graphics module. The game recommends medium settings for everything and it's played pretty well so far. I'll take a look at my framecount when I play more later.

Ace Combat 8 impressions so far. Mission 6 completed. Mission 5 was probably one of the most intense missions I've played in AC in a while. The railgun alerts really raise that panic you have while flying. It's amazing stuff. Have no idea where the story will end up yet but excited to keep going!
