I was right. This is absurd.

This is a Federal Tort Claims Act (“FTCA”) class action seeking money damages
for injuries caused when the police indiscriminately launched explosive munitions,
chemical agents, and impact projectiles into a peaceful crowd and physically assaulted
members of the crowd that was assembled on the west side outdoor terrace and grounds of

The Palm Springs area had four protests today (Rancho Mirage, Cathedral City, Palm Desert, and Palm Springs). I went to the downtown PS one this evening, but it looks like at least the Rancho Mirage one turned out big numbers for being off-season (107* today)!

Boasberg’s order was vacated by SCOTUS, but the ruling clearly and expressly states that notice must be provided “within a reasonable time…as will allow them to actually seek habeas relief…” which I believe was part of what was at issue here.
