+ he’s a bit of an insomniac because he gets scared to go to sleep in case he has the dream, his severe reactions are usually followed by a couple days of no sleep

Because of his regenerative properties they do grow back completely in the span of a couple days, and he only freaks out about them after a particularly bad dream sets him off. The guilt of his changes doesn’t usually bother him outside of the aftermath of his nightmares. 5/5

Sometimes, if he’s upset enough, he’ll cut/tear them out of his own arms in an attempt to get rid of them to make sure his parents will recognize him when he goes home before he cries himself into a state of numbness.

Nothing he says or does ever gets them to realize that he’s their son, and every single time, the door always closes with him outside. When he wakes up, he sees his mutations as the root of why they don’t recognize him, which often leaves him regretting the choices he made.

He doesn’t have the classic “scary demon” nightmares, but instead has vivid dreams of finally going home only to be rejected at his parent’s door because they don’t recognize him. The thing that affects him the most is the empty gaze in his mothers eyes he faces every time they open the door.

After the lockdown begins, Desmond no longer has the option to visit home. His homesickness/missing his parents manifests into his dreams, and his worry about how they’ll see him with his mutations seeps in as well.
