My wife and I stopped our car to pick up a female cardinal who had been passed over by a large truck. We got her into a cardboaed box. On the way to the vet she called out, perhaps for her her mate. Nearly made my cry.

My late Rosie had missing teeth from tooth resorption. She also lost a canine after taking a tumble down the steps. She was the best.
