nemo @bug-appreciator.bsky.social · 13/07/2025I've been busy, haven't been able to get into the wild much lately but I did got to a local pond for a few minutes. Got a snap of a pair of Black Saddlebags in tandem. Got some eye lens detail on some Halloween Skimmer males and a Blue Dasher. 010 0

nemo @bug-appreciator.bsky.social · 19/04/2025There were a lot of wildflowers around, with a bunch of Antelope-horn Milkweed. I found milkweed bugs (lovely to see), but also found this beast, Apiomerus spissipes, an assassin bug that specializes on bees. When I first spotted them they were trying to snag a honeybee. 000 0

nemo @bug-appreciator.bsky.social · 21/12/2024Four-spotted mantidfly! This is surely in my top three favorite insect observations of the year - what an amazing insect! They were hiding by a lamp so it's not my best photo, but still super cool to spot one out there. 100 0
nemo @bug-appreciator.bsky.social · 21/12/2024CW for the creepy bugs - Beelzebub bee eater, and a wheel bug. I was delighted to see both and I think they're fascinating to behold, but not all agree. 100 0
