I think it's kinda funny that "sneakers hanging" is something that you can complain about in the Buffalo 311 app.
Under Public Works, issues you can report include sign maintenance, street paving, illegal dumping, and, yes, sneakers hanging.

NWS Buffalo released rainfall totals from Wednesday night, which peaked at 3 inches in Medina, 2.2 inches in Warsaw, 1.7 inches in Newfane and 1.6 inches in Springville. Those sites were under flash flood warnings throughout the evening.

While the weather service did not confirm any tornadoes, spotters recognized waterspouts off Lake Ontario and radar used by NWS indicated tornadic rotation

For the unfamiliar, the Welland Canal runs parallel to the Niagara River and was built because Niagara Falls blocks ships from sailing from Lake Erie to Lake Ontario. By bypassing the Falls, ocean-going vessels can enter the Great Lakes via the St. Lawrence Seaway.

Because I am a humorless pedant, I am obliged to note that this meme depicts Niagara Falls, which is about 15 miles south of Lake Ontario on the Niagara River. Which actually is a strait! The Strait of Our Moose is the Welland Canal, entirely in Canada. Which they could close to US trade. 🗃️

Seriously, though, look how my induction range is mapped. I had to make little labels for under the knobs. This is bad design.
Black glass cook top shows red lines connecting knobs to burners. Well, it's an induction range so they're not literally burners. Anyway, on the left, the rear burner knob is on the left. On the right, the rear burner, which is actually in the center, is on the right.

Here's the current Buffalo code on numbering. Every 20 feet gets a new number, which is irrational compared to the 1891 unit of 10 feet, when a zero added to a house number told you how far it was from the beginning of the street. A good wayfinding device. #Buffalo ecode360.com/13581679
