Outside Budgies Part 19: Being Different www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/ou... Sometimes we've got to remember that not every budgie is the same. And that's ok! One of my flock still doesn't want to jump up but he'll make eye contact and blink at us. #birdart #digitalart #webcomic #birds #parrotsky

One of my favourite outside birds, the glorious masked lapwing aka plover! Some people think they are swoopy pests with venomous wing spikes lol (???) But they're cute and fluffy and great at setting boundaries. #birdart #birds #digitalart

Outside Cockatiels: Episode 0 This story spawned from a couple of kind readers pointing out a mistake in the Outside Cockatiels story. Wild cockatiel girls do not have a bright yellow face. And then the plot bunnies took over. 😅 #birdart #digitalart #webcomic #birds #cockatiel #art

Is it chips or fries where you come from? Disclaimer: I would not actually share my chips with my real pet budgies even if they ask politely. Part 10 of my Outside Budgies webcomic, a silly story about pet budgies in the wild. www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/ou...

Pet budgies notice a cockatoo eating chips in a pub in a small town. They sneak up!

The cockatoo shares their chips with the budgies and the wild budgie has her first taste of them!

They notice a train pull up. They can go home but decide to stay for the Spring Festival, a suggestion from the wild budgie.

Outside Budgies Part 4: Night Terrors Some budgies like to snuggle, but some just need their space! 🙅 www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/ou... #budgiesky #birds #art #birdart #cuteart #webcomic

Bedtime as a large flock. The budgie friends share a perch. After some time, more come to join and our grey friend is feeling squished!

"They're the worst! And it's boiling." Off he flew in a rage. "Finally. Alone at last." He found a nice quiet perch all to himself. Or so he naively thought. An eastern barn owl swoops in.

"Where are you? There's a scary bird in the area!" a call came from the other budgies. "What now." he thought. "Scary... bird...?" Then it hit him. The owl was inches away.

"It's me! I'm coming back!" He took off. The desert that was usually silent, was loud with the calls of budgies. Heard but not seen! Their calls of encouragement helped their friend back to the flock. "Don't be afraid!" "We're just over here!" "Past the hill with the big tree!" "Stay high up!" "Keep yelling so we know where you are!"

The next night, our grey friend learnt that there was strength in numbers. Meanwhile the others compromised by social distancing.

Outside Budgies Part 3: Always hungry Some budgies will try to eat literally anything and need to go to the vet. 🫠 www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/ou... #budgies #birds #birdart #cuteart #webcomic

Our budgie party tags along with their new friend and her flock. "Your flock has how many?", one of them asks in surprise. The three budgie friends race around as part of the flock. "You can't catch me!" "Just let me loaf."

"Is it time for lunch yet?" One of the budgies starts thinking of food again. "Haha already?" the bush budgie replies. They stopped for some eucalyptus flowers with an australian ringneck. "That's not food!" our budgie friend spat the flowers out in disgust. "Seed addict." And they stopped for cypress pine nuts with a Major Mitchell's cockatoo. The cockatoo cracks through them easily, while our hungry friend struggles. "Looks tasty, I want some too!"

And in his ravenous rampage, he peers up at some acacia georginae. "How about this one?" The bush budgie jumps in, "Stop! You'll die!" Finally, some spinifex. Food for wild budgies. "Look, everyone's eating-" Before she finished her sentence, our budgie friend started munching on some of the grasses with the others! "Where did you go?" his friends asked, curious. Sighing, the bush budgie goes to join them. "Guess I better eat too before it's all gone."

Outside Budgies Part 2: Lost The good (?) thing is, no doomscrolling when there's no signal.. Webtoon: www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/ou... #budgies #birds #birdart #cuteart #digitalart #webcomic

Stranded in the harsh Australian outback

The budgies rely on their instincts for survival. One of the budgies is unable to use his phone as there is no signal. Another is missing millet. And another is thinking, "This is where I die", blankly staring into space.

Suddenly, a female bush budgie appears! "Need some help? Here, take this!" She hands over some seeding grasses. "Thank you!" The budgies hungrily munch on the seeds.

"I've got to go back to my flock now. Bye!" she says.
"Wait! Can we come?" asks one of the budgie friends. "Let's go!" she replied. Bush budgies are small, fast, green and yellow. But pet budgies are big floofs, come in many beautiful colours and are seeb addicts!!

Outside Budgies Part 1: Home Just a silly comic I started drawing based loosely on my real life pet budgies. #budgies #birds #birdart #cuteart #digitalart

Present day, Australia. Three budgie friends live in a tree beside a fast food restaurant. It's not perfect, but it's home.

The search for a new home began. A turf war between a noisy miner and a common myna. Almost getting trampled on a busy street. It wasn't easy.

They arrived at the train station. The clock struck midnight. "The last train on this line is now departing." The announcement for the last train of the night. The budgie friends snuck into an empty carriage. Safe at last, they fell asleep.
