something about buckandeddie deliberately keeping stuff from each other in order to be able to see the surprise and delight on the other's face in person. buck making up a whole new person, freddie fakeman, so eddie wouldn't know buck was his renter before buck got to tell him himself. and eddie leaving a note he knew would make buck think he left for el paso, just so he could surprise him with their son. and do that silly little "when did i say that?" joke. i hate them.

That was a fucking married person fight, oh my god. It starting over something small (the groceries) and escalating so quickly. Hitting the other where it hurts the most because you're hurting and it's easiest to hurt the people you love than deal with your hurt.

The tension. The domesticity. The simmering anger. The grief.
