Oh you fell for the split ends scam. That myth was all started by Big Follicle and the scissor lobby. /s back when I had hair I tried to grow it out once or twice and never got past the awkward stage.

I think you just have to give up cutting it altogether for a bit. Get some soft hair ties or berets or something to assist in getting past the awkward stage.
