I read Standard Operating Procedure, the 3rd #novella of the #rwth series by Jennifer R. Donohue. Futuristic dystopia world, centered on a trio of women criminals. This book, our POV character is former supersoldier Dolly, and the crime is... a dog heist? Look, it's a very expensive dog. #booksky

The cover is white text on a background composed of a complicated series of paved roadways at night illuminated by streetlights.

The book rests on a fuzzy soft blanket which is the colors of the bisexual flag (blue, purple, pink). It looks very cozy.

The book cover has an orange background, with the title taking up space in the middle in big white letters. Two people gaze at each other from either side of the book's title: a man standing in a casual posture with hands in his pockets wearing a baseball cap and work boots, and a woman wearing a cowboy hat and boots while holding a second cowboy hat behind her back.

Leaning against the book is a cheeky sticker of a smiling condiment bottle in a pink cowboy hat with the label "ranch romance"

I read Their Heart a Hive by Fox N. Locke! Gothic historical YA fantasy, set in a queernormative world inspired by Cornish folklore and classic works such as Dracula and Beauty & Beast. There are themes of self-imposed isolation/withdrawal, found family, and cultural/societal mores. #booksky

A close up of a person, the image framing only their nose, mouth, and collar. Honey drizzles down their lips and off their chin, and a bee crawls along their lower lip.

I read Salt Bones by Jennifer Givhan, audiobook narrated by Victoria Villarreal. This book is a mystery thriller highlighting environmental abuse, patriarchy, and generational trauma. It's got a "magically realism but horror" vibe (which I loved; it was so mystically creepy).

Background of orange tinted sky, mountains, and a low laying lake. A shadowed figure in a deep purple cloak walks along the grass of the water's edge, head bowed so the cloak hood obscures their face. A few long dark strands of
hair escape the fabric to wave in the wind.

I read "The Glowing Hours" by Leila Siddiqui, audiobook narrated by Rachel Petladwala. This gothic tale focuses on a POV often minimized in historical gothic fiction. We follow the story of Mehr, the Indian housemaid of Mary Shelley, as she deals with societal bias and spooky shenanigans. #booksky

Imagery: A grey manor stands amidst a muted landscape, surrounded by grey and purple mist. Above it, an Indian woman in a historical housemaid outfit stands in the middle of grape vines. Her arms are crossed over her chest, hands covering something she holds close to her heart. Ghostly grey arms slashed with red wounds are crossed over her face, obscuring her mouth, as another pair of hands reach towards her from above.
