OctoPLUR Day 5/31 Today was busy so my creations today were very simple, including one that's fancy enough that I can get away with wearing it to work. At least I got to try a new kind of cord though! I can't wait to see how it holds up over time!

OctoPLUR Day 4/31 I know I said this two days ago but now I'll say out again. This is the most elaborate bracelet I've ever made. 588 beads and a length of stretch cord that is longer then I am tall. I'm really happy and excited about this one!

Having to start over the bracelet cause something broke or you changed your mind about the pattern sucks, but it's one of those parts of the process so try not to let it demotivate you too much.

Always cut the string longer than you think you'll need to. You can always cut it shorter later but having to start over cause you cut it too short and didn't realize until later can be demotivating.

The thread holders can be found at most craft stores but if you don't want to buy another thing, then a piece of cardboard with a slit cut will do the job. Other than that, all of these can be found in the craft aisle at Dollar Tree or in any bracelet kit and those will get you off to a good start.

That's all you really need to get started but as a bonus I'll recommend that when you get started that you tie a knot in the end of your string and take one of these tabs used for holding thread and use it to hold the end if the string so you can move it around more without anything falling off.

Any beads will do but if you're looking at online stores and looking for this default style of beads that you see in most Kandi bracelets and bracelet making kits, then this style is called pony beads and makes for great practice, especially if you ever want to start working on complicated designs

Regular elastic is easier to find and better for small beads, but for a beginner I'd strongly recommend looking for stretch cord, the kind covered in fabric material. It's easier to tie without slipping, it's harder to break on accident, and it makes longer laying bracelets

Most out there bracelet I ever got was this cringe one that I traded for at EuFuria The pro/con of kandi being so customizable is that it's almost too easy to work in whatever signals you want, so you could do solid colors for hanky code, symbols like safety pins, or leather pride flag colors

I've been trying to make more kink bracelets ever since I got a lot of interest for them at pride so I only have so many. My personal kink identity is varied that I don't have one that I feel really encapsulates it yet, but that would be a fun project! My next cuff idea might be perfect for that!

Good question. I need to learn how to make patterns with openings that aren't parallel to each other, and something shaped like a diaper cover sounds like a cool way to practice that. It would be a helpful step towards my goal if eventually making a kandi vest or jacket.
