TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (UPI)
Florida officials demanded
an end to Daylight Saving Time
yesterday to "stop the slaugh-
ter of children" going to school
in the pre-dawn darkness.
With the death toll since
last Jan. 6, when DST was or-
dered by Congress to save

Department of Education,
Gov. Reubin Askew and state
Education Chief Floyd Chris-
tian called on Congress to
"promptly repeal" DST nation-
wide.
And State Senate President
Mallory Horne proposed a
special session of the Legisla-
ture for next week to take
Florida off DST immediately.
ASKEW CALLED an emer-
gency meeting of the state
board of education for Mon-
day morning to discuss the
possibility of asking school
boards to open school even
later than 9 A. M. and deter-
mine what other steps can be
taken to insure youngsters'
safety. The governor said he
also would ask the officials to
petition Congress to roll back
the clock so that Florida
won't be out of step with the
rest of the nation.
In listing eight victims,
Christian included a 16-year-
old boy, killed last Jan. 21
while riding his bike to
school, and a 17-year-old girl,
whose car crashed last Jan.
15 in the pre-dawn darkness.

it was canceled because it was catastrophic and yes there were exhaustive studies

The advancing of school hours is thought to be a mitigating
factor in the morning safety risk to school children associated
with YRDST. The following section addresses in more detail effects
of YRDST on school hours.
6.6 CHANGES IN SCHOOL HOURS
6.6.1 Conclusions
Reports from 37 States and the District of Columbia indicate
school districts in lu states advanced their school hours because
of the problems of dark mornings. About 44 percent of the school
districts and 47 percent of the students enrolled in the 37 report-
ing states were affected by the schedule change.
6.6.2 Introduction
Information concerning the impact of daylight saving time
upon the schools of the fifty states was collected and correlated
with information already available in the Education Directory
1973-74, Public School Systems with the following results:
1. Thirty-seven state departments of education and the
District of Columbia responded.
2. Fourteen of those responses provided opinion but no data.
3. Eighteen responses provided information concerning the
number of school districts which were affected by changes
in schedules which were made because of daylight saving
time.
6.6.3 Findings

The problem isn’t that they’re moving past it—it’s that they’re trying to rehabilitate it. Would be better for everyone if people who don’t want to engage with the facts just talked about the play on the field and left it at that.

To be honest, this is the wrong focus. There are things that help, like EMDR and talk therapy, but what women want from men is the ability to feel like they can just exist in life without having to do threat assessments all the time. Women need men to have good dads. Good mentors. Good peers.

i don't do a watch grid sheet anymore, I just use this sheet which tells me when everything starts, what the window of the previous game on that channel was, and then on the same sheet the auto-filled commands to start recording radio of every game that starts at that time

column A: kickoff time in ET
B: network
D: away team
E: home team
then a bunch of things auto-filled from the master sheet of radio feeds, then a command, and then a conditionally formatted countdown of how far away that is in hours and minutes, with it being green with more than an hour, etc, and then next to THAT how much time elapses between the previous game on that network

this is the rest of the sheet showing a compilation of all games that start at a given time catted into one single command which then runs interactive shells

on the left, the box all the way at the bottom of the screen. it slowly moves up until the one on the right is quite high.
