Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old?

Miriya Parina (aka Milia Fallyna in the original Super Dimension Fortress Macross, which I was first exposed to as Robotech). Helmeted inside her powered armor, she eyes the Veritech piloted by her target (and future husband), Max Sterling (Maximilian Jenius), which is reflected in her faceplate.

Silver with black bumpers front and side, the 'Starcar' from The Last Starfighter looks more or less like if DeLorean made a station wagon.

Ian McKellan with a pencil mustache and a cigarette in his mouth. He wears a high-colored dress uniform reminiscent of World War II Germany. From Richard III

Oddball (Donald Sutherland, left) grins at Kelly (Clint Eastwood, right). Oddball is bearded, his hair well beyond regulation length, while Kelly wears an Army helmet with netting over it. From the film Kelly's Heroes

An image of the load screen from the PC version of Neuromancer (1988), a game in which a primary method of making money early on was to sell your own organs for cheap, plastic replacements

What game made you fall in love with video games? As a kid, I was enthralled by tales of knights (King Arthur & co. in particular) as well as The Hobbit, and then a friend had the first Wizardry and it was like, "Here, you can (kinda sorta) 'be' all that..."
Cover of the box for the original Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (1981). A green dragon slithers through an S shape beneath the word 'Wizardry' run through from the right by a sword.

An ad for the premier of G vs E. At left, Agent Chandler Smythe points at the viewer while wearing a coat and tie, while agent Henry McNeil appears skeptical and standoffish behind him wearing some sort of red velour button down. Text at the top reads, "Be G, or they'll E-liminate you." The pair are described as, "Humble footsoldiers in the employ of the Almight," by text near the bottom above a red banner explaining this all premiers July 17th at 8pm/7c on USA Network

Labumafu
The face of Zoboomafoo the lemur puppet from Kratt's Kreatures crudely superimposed over the face of a labubu doll. Graphic design is, obviously, my passion

If you see this, quote this post with a time travel movie that's not BACK TO THE FUTURE 🎥
Poster for the movie Trancers (1984) with Tim Thomerson and Helen Hunt. A man in what is essentially a motorcycle helmet but probably supposed to be 'future armor' stares menacingly out of the image while holding up an equally 'future' pistol in a mesh-gloved hand. He has a five o'clock shadow and a scar on his cheek. Text in the corner beneath his chin reads, "His name is Deth. He hunts Trancers. Even in the 20th century."

Still from the 'carrousel' scene in the movie Logan's Run, where citizens who've gotten too old (over 30) are killed off under the guise of a ceremony of renewal

A leering, semi-caricature bald eagle painted on the side of a building. Its talons bold a shrieking snake as missiles and skeletal birds and snakes fly around the scene; a similar bird and serpent face this one, but are mostly cut off at the left

post a ship that's not star wars or star trek
A model of the ship belonging to the pirate queen, Emeraldas, in Leiji Matsumoto's works. Shaped like a blue, metallic blimp with a red belly, it has a skull and crossbones on the nose and, improbably, a galleon-like wooden sailing ship in place of a gondola

I grew up on these streets.
Needles, CA, as depicted in the original Wasteland computer game. An overhead view of town shows two ruined roads forming an upside down T around which most of the town's buildings cluster on the east side. South town is an east-west railroad line, a building that houses a church of the Servants of the Mushroom Cloud, and a ruined (but not abandoned) ICBM silo. Radiation symbols dot the landscape in the northwest.

Avery Brooks as Hawk from Spenser for Hire. He wears sunglasses and a black, high-collared coat while brandishing a large, silver revolver in his gloved right hand.

You wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me.
A Photon 'laser tag' arena. One player takes cover behind a pillar in the middle of the floor while another aims at him from back and to the right - though he himself is about to get laser-domed by the front-and-center player's teammate on the upper deck at the back left

Frame from a non-nusical movie with a great soundtrack.
Tank Girl (Lori Petty) smoking a cigarette while reclining against the turret of her eponymous tank while Jet Girl (Naomi Watts) stands in the hatch behind her. Rockets, machine guns, and graffiti abound

A photo of two heavily armed gentlemen otherwise dressed for the disco. The fellow on the right wears a mish-mash of olive drab fatigues rounded out by oversize mirror shades. On the left? A shirtless man with a fringed, rawhide vest holds an RPG on one shoulder. A blue cowboy hat, jeans, and cowboy boots complete the ensemble while a single talon or claw or something on a necklace hangs about his neck and a cylindrical grenade(?) is stuffed inside his broad, orange belt

Young me didn't know what this chain and others like it did to local shops - to that oblivious kid, Bookstop was basically Xanadu, books as far as the eye could see. (I guess the brand endured a while after the 1989 B&N buyout, but I never saw one again and it remains rooted in the '80s for me)
A man and woman stand in the parking lot of Bookstop books. The vehicles behind them date from the late 1970s to mid-1980s and the storefront has a brick facade with a pair of 'grand opening' signs
