I had a chance to visit Rochester for several weeks over a two year period, and fell in love with Minnesota. That "one weird trick" is that if you stay there for any length of time, you want to become a Minnesotan, and Somalis are probably already Vikings and Twins and Lynx and hot dish fans..

Biden pardoned family and officials that were on Trump's hit list, because Trump's "justice department" and "AG" Bondi would have gone after them...on day one. And pathetic Tillis would have said nothing from the Senate floor as it was happening. Both Sides DON'T do the same thing.

It makes me wonder: What horrible things happened to them, what breeches of trust did they suffer, what betrayal from friends occurred, at early ages, to make them think and act this way as adults. Healing your resentments requires more than lashing out at others, continuously...

Imaginary liberal media reporter: "Gas, diesel and other goods briefly spiked early in Joe Biden's term after the Trump administration mismanaged the response to the Covid epidemic. Repeated over and over and over like the mainstream media does to Democrats.

Amazingly, Jill Wine-Banks, (in her eighties now, and a Watergate prosecutor back then) is still on cable along with some of my other favorites, Joyce Vance and Barb McQuade, calling 'em like they see 'em, and it must really rile up the thin-skinned right wing.

Just another Republican from the bottom of the barrel, Schmitt was on a Sunday show recently being nasty about Biden being "comatose" during his presidency. Biden was old and and inarticulate, but no evidence that he couldn't understand and make policy decisions. Schmitt was just being an asshole.

Agree. If you are a magna cum laude graduate with a Juris Doctorate playing a cornpone rube in the senate, you walk a fine line to avoid being an actual cornpone rube!

Counting mail in ballots before election day would help speed things up. But even as someone who votes by mail, I want voters at the polls at closing time not to have the possibility of leaked results. It's either painful or joyful watching results be announced by precinct. That's vote counting.

I'm not happy about the relatively busy schedule right after the election and into the new (probably) Democratic Congress. So much time, so many ways to gum up the works. (Really the only specialty Republicans have ever had in governance.)

The way I'm reading the situation is: Forget about impeachment against Trump. Call hearings on most of the cabinet members, and those who answer to them, with the clear implication that impeachment is on the table, but just as important, that legal liability in the future is also on the table.

Despite OBL being an obvious religious and political radical, millions of us saw the damage that OPEC could do to our economy at any given time, and we also wanted us out of the middle east, and off a dependency on oil: Reduce their importance by 90%, to supplying lubrication oil and lawnmower gas.

Resentment, whatever the cause may be, shapes the lens of perception of resentful individuals. There is no way to cure the disease from the outside. We can change the way we act towards them, but that won't eliminate the resentment.

When I was in 6th grade we had a full pads, full contact, flag football league. So there was shoulder contact with the blocking and getting at the ball carrier's flag. Now, there are a lot of girls flag leagues, so I hope they can enjoy the passing, running, dodging and playmaking like I did.

Also noticeable in the 'No Kings" protests the past year was the high representation of today's safest demographic (my demographic): mostly white, mostly retirement age, protesting FOR our neighbors that would most likely be subject to discrimination with the brutal deportation tactics of this era.

Maybe by taking the meeting they can frame it as "they approached us, we looked for common ground, but there wasn't much to agree on. They had no meaningful positions on healthcare, etc." Rather than not accepting and enduring the onslaught of name calling. Maybe I'm nostalgic for simpler times.

I can think of other Democrats that I would prefer to see as Speaker on the Sunday shows and standing up to Republicans. Do Pelosi and others see something in his organizing skills (her strength), since herding the Democratic "cats" is itself a vital skill to have as Speaker? Hard for me to see.

This guy's particular technique is to use rehearsed or easily assembled paragraphs to flood the zone after each question. Hosts should recognize this, and ignore their attempts to force the hosts to "wait until I've made my point at the end of the paragraph".

Oh, I DO feel sorry for her. She has become a tragic character, but this is all the result of her behavior, and the one most responsible, along with many WH staffers, is Donald Trump. The lesson to be learned is: vet proposed staff, do security checks, and hire and fire them on a professional basis.

Although Hillary Clinton and Al Gore were both solid candidates, and obviously better than their Republican rivals, I never got that "vibe" like I did with early Bill Clinton and early Barack Obama. Never undervalue that in a candidate. And Jon Ossoff seems to have it, so far. (Hope this ages well)

I've been watching him on MSNOW as the anti-Trump Republican counterpoint for a few years now. Sure, you can be fooled by television personalities, but he sure seemed to be pretty middle of the road and pragmatic. And Democrats need Nixon, Mamdani, AOC and Slotkin and in this case, David Jolly.

Yes, Mimey caught it in an earlier response. Keep in mind that "Libertarians" like Massey, as well as other Republicans, oppose government programs to help people in need. Being pragmatic, feeding and educating the poor seems as practical, to me, as watering your garden. You know...for the future.

We are far more civilized now. Our clergy take Bible verses out of context so as to impart the maximum amount of guilt and self loathing onto our Christian children The facial scars of the past were barbaric, but the inner scars our children receive are, if you will, a societal rite of passage. 😱

Having a "severely" autistic relative, now in his thirties in a group home, it's hard to imagine his condition not being obvious in any time or setting. But, I can imagine a farmer's son being able to pick up supplies at Freds Farm Supply 100 years ago, if not a complicated order from Costco today.
