I will second the Vivaldi recommendation if you can't ge along with Firefox. A notable portion of the Vivaldi team is OG Opera browser folks from before it became another Chromium reskin and killed everything that made Old Opera good. Vivaldi is what Opera with Chromium's engine should have been.

Desert Bus for Hope 🚌 #DB2026 OCTOBER 23rd @desertbus.org · 16/09/2026

Many people ask, "What is Desert Bus for Hope?" Others ask, "When are you going to update that video?" Great news:

To be fair I'd straight-up believe Grace Jones could just do that.

I found the 3DS Majora's Mask a more enjoyable version for its QoL changes. It's a shame there's a lot of less-good changes but you can mostly fan-patch those away.

How did you get it to only show asterisks for me?

Me, fine-tuning 256-colour GIFs instead of just renaming a video with a .gifv extension.

Is transcription any faster if you still have to check it against the source. Can you trust a search summary without checking, why not just go to the source in the first place. Not to mention, coding is fun. Researching new things is fun. Why would I want to take that away?

BtEtta @btetta.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

Anyone who's written code should be able to tell you that "does what it's supposed to" can hide edge cases (which could include security issues) easily. Sure, an experienced coder might spot that. But they also shouldn't need AI to write. And you don't get that experience if you just vibe coded.

Given how little I interact with this site I can only assume the reason I'm on there is that I blocked the Attie account.

In the dying days of OW1 I did end up on in a 1v6 as Lucio after all my team left. They kindly lined up for my only ever sextuple kill.

010

BtEtta @btetta.bsky.social · 19/02/2026

I stuck with it decently long, even into OW2's lifetime. But eventually I was playing it less and less as I had other things to fill my time (a certain critically acclaimed MMO with a generous free trial.) Finally uninstalling it erected a barrier likely to stop me ever going back. Whatever changes.

Last time I got something similar I contacted that person by another means to see if they'd sent it. (They had not)

Being happy at past-me rather than cursing their work is a nice feeling.

010

BtEtta @btetta.bsky.social · 28/12/2025

I've been seeing this a lot lately with my own projects. Albeit on a smaller scale. Just having "what needs to happen" percolating in my head while I'm not actively working on my code gets much cleaner code that is far easier to build on and doesn't hold me back.

I'm pretty sure train is gonna end up suplexing us tbh.

Oh, and you've stayed at least some amount of current. (Did you ever finish Celeste chapter 9? I remember you being stuck in one room, then never posting if you'd cleared it.)

By the time the poll concluded I'd picked a favourite anyway so the result was meaningless. So I guess just keep thinking of names until you find the one your just *know* is right.

020

BtEtta @btetta.bsky.social · 07/09/2025

A long time ago I was considering possible names for what I at the time viewed as a separate feminine half of me (I'd not heard the term non-binary at the time). So I drew up a shortlist, and put a poll up on the forum I hung around at the time to see which ones other people thought worked for me…

Pokémon Scarlet/Violet are a great introduction, with the sadly enormous asterisk that they have a lot of well documented problems on a technical level. Personally I'd recommend not sleeping on the "of Mana". I had a lot of fun with the recent Visions of Mana.

She's right, but this still comes damn close… Feel free to continue the iconic title screen chain with your own suggestions.

Title screen from the video game "Deus Ex". Features two stylised triangle objects with a side missing and a slight curve on one remaining side - each rotating around a central orb. Below are the words Deus Ex with the letters made to look like mechanical constructions.

It feels a little unfair to say they are the best video game movies I've seen because that's a category that has generally set a low bar and the Sonic movies are well above just being good by those standards.

My first video, divorced of context, was Brain Transplants Made Easy. I don't actually remember what reintroduced me much later, possibly Strip Search, but I was in time to back the Kickstarter for the final season of weekly videos.
