Not that I've found. The same circle's other works seem to get listed as PC88/PC98 simultaneous ones but I have not seen any listing with a date for this one specifically. Entry 3 on PC98 gets listed elsewhere as 1990 and I won't be shocked if 1 is 1988 and 2 is 1989, each dual platform (guessing)

i am leaning toward: disk is legit, datestamps are outright lies, and the atogaki in your disk that is missing from the LZH file is the clincher
010
bsittler @bsittler.bsky.social · 26/04/2026
i think it may be legit after all! those timestamps were bogus, the 2013 Wayback copy of the LZH file has future 2017 dates inside it?!?!? web.archive.org/web/20131104...

Answering my own question: it's basically the same. Even including some file timestamps from as late as... 2017. Same dates as in the lzh file. Maybe this disk got rewritten based on the downloaded version at some point?

Did you ever wonder how people used BASIC on early home computers? One of the ways was typing in programs from magazines and running them! This recently launched site has tons of examples for many models, including Japanese ones but also models that were used all over the world code-recursion.tech

Also, I always fully fast forward then fully rewind tapes before playing them, it seems to greatly reduce the number of jams

I recently fished out a tape that separated from a cracked spindle and got tangled within the mechanism. Smooth coated wooden chopsticks worked well for gently untangling it. I reinserted it and taped the spindle and was able to read the tape and recover all the data. Sometimes it's salvageable!

not quite? i captured audio of some BBC Model B tapes as FLAC, and also made UEF. BBC-oriented tools I found seemed bad at audio-to-UEF so I used MSX tools to convert to MSX CAS format (more or less a "just the bits" solid image format) and then went from there to UEF using github.com/f-fix/cas2uef

New blog post! I'm tired of my TRS-80 Colour Computer needing an old school RF connection to get video out. How about crudely jamming in a composite mod from an *entirely different* obscure computer? That'll work. #coco #trs80 #retrocomputing www.leadedsolder.com/2025/07/15/t...

bsittler @bsittler.bsky.social · 02/03/2025
Those have succeeded with both higher recording volume levels for the tape audio, and variants of the Kansas City Standard, which is a lot more tolerant of perceptual audio codecs and works fine even passed through fairly strict band-pass filters. The ZX ROM codec is a fair bit pickier
