We are proud to share that our co-applicant Bantayehu Shiferaw Chanie, adjunct and visiting professor at uOttawa’s Graduate School of Public and International Affairs and Department of Criminology, has been elected to the 2025 College of New Scholars, Artists and Scientists of the Royal Society of Canada (RSC).

Dr. Chanie’s work as a political scientist and researcher addresses some of today’s most pressing global issues—from conflict and human rights to democracy and diaspora politics. His election to the RSC is a recognition of his outstanding contributions, as well as a milestone for our collective mission of advancing scholarship, justice, and collaboration.
