Had two heat related illnesses in kids yesterday 1. Asthma exacerbation that heat triggers 2. Headache and vomiting because lived with no AC unit. Asthma, respiratory illness, cardiovascular, kidney disease are all worse with heat. Sucks to care for sick kids from our fossil fuel addiction

Day 7 we discussed race, climate & health- very connected! #Colonialism led to the #castesystem led to racial inequities in wealth, investment in communities and health. #Structuredracism in a plantation economy was magnified by redlining led to worse #climatehealth outcomes that persist today.
