One more plug for my latest blog. Featuring a nice task on interpreting graphs!

This is my perfect use case for AI - I want to teach a lesson on sample space in probability and I want to use Monopoly as the hook. I ask for slides that include the opening side of Monopoly, a blank and a filled in sample space diagram, and finally the last slide.

Nice #higher-apps prompt - precision.

Manipulatives in slides? Useful? I'm trying to make things have the least amount of faff. Hence the zero pair button.

Yeah I saw this in a BBC article today. You always get this kind of factoid without any commentary. Nobody would seriously think that 10 days absence is the cause of such a dramatic reduction, yet often it seems presented that way.
Data shows that just 10 days of absence can halve the chance of a student getting at least a grade 5 in English and Maths.

#todayinmaths we "Saved that baby". The end of a four week project where students use some formulae, charts, and measuring skills to work out the dosage of medicine needed for saving a baby.

So apparently 5% = 1 on your mobile phone calculator. Good to know!
10 + 10 + 5% = 21 as displayed on an Android calculator app.

Here's a prompt from Reddit. What's the better way of packing, this way or the traditional full circle?

New bad graph just dropped. Source: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/footba...
A very questionable bar graph relating to goals scored by Vardy, Kane and Rooney, whoever they are!

At attempt at a diagram. The difference of b and c removed from a is the same as removing b from a and then adding c.

In #mathstoday we looked at multiplying by a negative as changing direction. Nice to link with enlargements and reflections too!

Probability. One for Higher Apps or Core Maths.
Scotsman article https://www.scotsman.com/news/transport/edinburgh-airport-passengers-parking-prices-ai-trial-4761666. Text reads:
The passenger said: "My wife, an iPhone user, and I, an Android user, have just noticed that Edinburgh Airport seems to be charging iPhone users more for car parking than Android users. "I discovered that when my wife went to book parking that I had suggested, it turned out to be more expensive. I searched again and got the lower original price on my Android device. "My Android device got the lower pricing on each of three separate occasions, while my wife's iPhone got the higher pricing twice and my work iPhone got it once. "It looks awfully like this is a model parameter rather than a random result."

Worksheet on inflation. It's to do with petrol prices. Definitely made during my Canva phase.

Prompt for discussing precision/accuracy, an old joke. Seeing a dinosaur skeleton, a tourist at the Natural History Museum asks the guard, "How old are they?" The guard replies, "73 million, four years, and six months old." "How can you be so precise?" asks the tourist incredulously. #UKMathsChat
A pretty rubbish AI drawing of the joke in question.
