Just blazed though Jim Butcher’s latest Dresden Files book, “Twelve Months”! Thematically similar to “Ghost Story” — a slower paced introspective book with some lovely lines regarding grieving and moving on. Some plot quibbles but nothing derailing. Already can’t wait for “Mirror Mirror”!

Two observations from watching StarFleet Academy: (1) So happy Reno has a bigger role. It’s giving DS9 Miles O’Brien vibes. (2) Where is Tilly? Her whole character arc in Discovery was about how she was happiest as a teacher. One would think she would be an Academy instructor.

Star Trek: Lower Decks. The Finale absolutely stuck the landing. While I would have loved another 2 seasons, I’m so pleased they ended on such a high note. Bravo.

Moana 2 was fine. Songs was sorely missing Lin-Manuel Miranda’s touch. The premise was strong but I wish the script made some different decisions. Once again, just subtitling “Singing in a foreign language” is an accessibility cop-out. If I’m watching someone sing, give me the lyrics, full stop.

I love Bad Times at El Royale but it’s still bullshit when they show Cynthia Erivo singing for 5 minutes and subtitle none of it. Only subtitling (singing) is an accessibility cop-out. Deaf people deserve to know what’s being sung too.
