I said “gooner slop” in a text it made me suicidal. Just so you know I hold myself to the same standards. Almost unfollow myself.

If you use Reddit words I’m unfollowing.

Anime is mostly bad, has been mostly bad for a while. Things probably peaked when Galaxy Express 999 was on tv. And we’ve been on a slow decline since. We are now near the bottom. Everything doesn’t suck but most of it does.

Remember when Studio Bones would make a bunch of mediocre but unique mecha anime? Better times.

Not gonna disagree but they are quite different. I enjoy watching Bruno more. I always feel like Kinski is going to hurt someone… which works often.

As much as I would like to be like Lynch I am more Herzog when it comes down to it.

Everything is quite literally explained or given to you. You also just have to accept some things are narrative echoes and not literal connections. All the dialogue in the Red Room is explanations for things and not weird poetry. The delivery mechanism may be Weird but it’s quite clear.

We have finished our rewatch of the original run of Twin Peaks. A genuinely fantastic show, imperfect and fascinating. If you watch it and just keep your eyes and ears open, it’s actually very straight forward the full way through.

Yes I’ve read way too much of this comic and was surprised to find that Ennis was actually trying to do something interesting with it.

Doogle (bryce) @brycenote.bsky.social · 10/10/2026

Crossed was one of those “wow so shocking” comics that did two or three other interesting things. The main takeaway from everyone was just “oh zombies can rape” which was the shock factor but also Ennis was trying to do Something with the story beyond that. A shame it didn’t really work out though.

I just re-read Last Look (Charles Burns) and it’s still quite good. Need to catch up on Go With The Clouds North By Northwest (Aki Irie) but that always feels great to read.

hey, i do have a thing for the thing, for once / from the giant folder of what ifs: the dredd episode i was going to draw (a long time ago) got sabotaged (along with everything else) by health issues, but here's a drawing i did back then

this was long enough ago that there may have not even been clip studio for the ipad, i possibly would have drawn this in... medibang?
