Michigan guy wallowing in the sin of empathy. Pro-union, pro-Union, walkable cities. Pro-Wien. (Profile pic alt-text: a well-loved, well-worn stuffed Babar face down on the kitchen counter, empty glass by his shoulder. He has had a hard day.)

Xi: “This whole trip should have been an email.”
The kobeissi letter: BREAKING: President Trump says he and China’s President Xi have agreed to rename Artificial Intelligence to “Super Intelligence”

Donald Trump’s tweet: “very productive meeting with President xi for both the USA and China. Tremendous things will be happening. Like almost everyone else, he seemed to like calling the poorly and inaccurately named Artificial intelligence to a far more accurate and important name, SUPER INTELLIGENCE. That would be SUPER! Everyone last night agreed, also. President DJT”

#abdul #michigan Re that ad that keeps being fed to me on YouTube…
A text conversation:

From google: “The United Democracy Project is a super PAC backed by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) that work to elect congressional candidates who are strong supporters of the US-Israel relationship. The organization primarily operates by intervening in Democratic and Republican primary races, frequently spending heavily to support or…”

“This is who sponsored the Abdul ad”

“Of course it is”

I find myself thinking of this scene a lot these days.
From the Jim Henson film Labyrinth. A picture of 2 doors guarded by 2 guards with doglike faces standing behind a shield. Each guard has a head above the shield and one below it. Or is it 4 guards? The hero must ask them one question. One of them always tells the truth and one of them always lies.

Models may vary. I don’t know if my old ones had the feature at all. But it’s 8 on my current one (and it makes me happy):

I keep returning to this photo. On 1 hand, it’s just a typo. So what? Otoh, it so perfectly encapsulates the arrogant lazy incompetent dipshits running this. They were using this visual in a congressional hearing & couldn’t even be bothered to spell check? “Logistics? Hormuz? Look at my biceps!”

Anyone remember this guy? Clowns, the lot of them.
Senator James Inhofe (R-OK), chair of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, holding a snowball on the Senate floor in 2015. Truly a towering intellect who made the unassailable observation that the world couldn’t possibly be getting warmer on average if on one day in one place in January it still got cold enough to snow. I love that I found this photo on his Wikipedia page. May it forever be his legacy.

19 yrs ago, the NYT (while still in my good graces) published a life-changing recipe for no-knead bread. In all the years since, I’ve never yet had time to experiment with it beyond the basic. But the idea that I, a total not-a-baker, can whip out a loaf like this still blows my mind. #breadsky
