Me too! One of the best productions I’ve ever seen. And, yes, she owned that stage.

Is the 1992 ‘Guys and Dolls’ revival the greatest cast recording of all time? I have decided, yes. It is.

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

yeah, but I didn't personally count miniseries or reality/competition, etc...

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

(Sigh). Yeah. I actually kinda like Season 4. But I never even finished Season 5.

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

To narrow it down even more: six of these ten, IMHO, had perfect runs, where every single season was a masterpiece: ‘Deadwood’, ‘The Wire’, ‘Mad Men’, ’Breaking Bad’, ‘30 Rock’, and ‘Veep’. But the others‘ highs were SO high, they made up for a weak season or two.

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Yeah, they only considered shows that premiered in 2000 or later, so that ruled out Sopranos… and another top ten of mine: the Cartoon Network/Adult Swim masterpiece ‘Home Movies’.

Really enjoyed talking with my dear friends Wilmer Valderrama and Freddy Rodriguez on their Dos Amigos Podcast. Lovely conversation. This is the link to the video version, but you can also find it in regular 'ol podcast form! www.iheart.com/podcast/1119...

It was also in English, co-produced and distributed by Paramount. So.

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

I know. Many outlets are saying it's the first "big-screen" adaptation of THE ODYSSEY. I'm pointing out it's not.

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 21/07/2026

Many outlets are reporting that Nolan's (excellent) new movie is the first full-on big-screen adaptation of THE ODYSSEY... ... but this is not so. There's also the quite-good ULYSSES (1954) starring Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn! Worth a look.

The 70mm presentation of the THE ODYSSEY at the historic Directors Village in Westwood (now operated by the great @amcinematheque.bsky.social) is truly spectacular.

Alas, I don't keep up with them as much as I used to, but KIMBERLY AKIMBO (which co-starred my old Juilliard classmate Steven Boyer) was superb.

Ramin's brilliant and a very kind, thoughtful man. I didn't have much involvement in post until the last couple of seasons but those spotting sessions with him in his studio in Santa Monica were a real treat. The Stark Theme makes my heart soar to this day.

Alas, my version of 'Zorro' is longer happening at Disney. They just didn't see eye-to-eye with what we wanted to do with it. Wilmer and I hope to find another home for it someday. Thankfully, I have another show picking up speed (hence my imminent social media break). But, yeah, it's a bummer.

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

It was definitely planned in the writers room. Just a matter juggling all the storylines -- Sansa and Theon didn't have quiiiite as much incident in Season 4 as they did/would in other seasons, so their stories came to a natural end before the battle episode and everything in 'The Children'.

Bryan Cogman @bryancogman.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

Oh, yes, I'll be on for the 'Star Trek (TOS)' draft later this year. As for the Legends Invitational... not sure yet... might have to test Clay and see if it's ACTUALLY an "invitational".
