My dad looked at this acrylic cat painting an said, "Whee!" So that's what I named it. You can bid on this until tonight here: bazaar.brutalsun.com/collections/... When it doesn't sell, which [continued in image alt➡️]

it probably won't (cuz $6 diesel), I'll sand it down and repaint something new on the panel. The cost of materials, especially shipping boxes, is so high. I can't afford to have any art laying around not selling. Any dud art has to be repurposed. And hopefully turned into something that will sell.

For those with limited vision wondering what this picture is, this is an acrylic painting of a chunky orange cat on a swing. She is wearing a cute pink flower crown. She looks joyful. I sketched her on Krita, and transferred the sketch to a canvas, before painting her in a somewhat illustrative style. I was a bit inspired by 1950's pinup girl Hilda.

A micro drone intrudes on a magical forest where fairy cats live. I think this is a metaphor for how AI is intruding on all our lives right now. You can bid on this original cat painting here: bazaar.brutalsun.com/products/dro...

A black fairy cat looks suspiciously at a micro drone intruding on its sacred forest. The cat's iridescent wings shimmer in the dappled sunlight. This scene was painted using premium Golden acrylic paints.

dragons. Mind you, the dragons don’t particularly like being discovered. They take great pride in their mystery. That’s why when you catch a glimpse of one, they might look back at you in shock, as if to say, “Oh no! You know I’m real!”

This painting captures just such a moment, of a pure white feline crystal dragon looking at the viewer with surprise, as it crawls down a rocky summit.

Yeah, I listen to a lot of orchestral "trailer" style music. I won't watch a Youtube music video anymore unless it's either pre 2020, or by a known (vetted) artist. Luckily, there's a ton of older music I haven't discovered yet.

I'm so glad you like it! I'm trying to be a little more YouTube-y lately. With all the AI, I think it's important to show the process and the humanity in my paintings. I love your underwater videos! They always make me want to be there.

"Sugar Witch", acrylic, 11"x14" Nope, this isn't a digital photobash, or AI. This is a traditional painting. Though, I did use a digital photobash as my source. I hope you like this greedy lil' kitty! For a short time, she'll be available here: bazaar.brutalsun.com/products/sug...

A pink witch kitty reclines on a pile of sweets, purple frosting on her mouth. Her sparkly pink witch hat is adorned with sugar roses. She is surrounded by donuts, cookies, lollipops, cake, chocolate, gummy bears, and other colorful candies. It took forever to paint this image. It contains so much detail.

A small calico purrmaid lazily swims through coral reefs after a long nap. That's when she spots the perfect fish. Not big enough to give her trouble. But just big enough to make a meal. This original 11"x14" acrylic painting is available until tonight: bazaar.brutalsun.com/products/sar...

"Sardine!", an 11 by 14 inch original acrylic painting of a calico mermaid cat. I first sketched the study for this purrmaid in Krita. I then transferred my study over to an MDF art panel. No AI was used to conceptualize this merkitty at all. Just looked at a few reference photos of cats and marine life.

"Lupita and Yoyo," acrylics, 11"x14" You can bid on this original painting here: bazaar.brutalsun.com/products/lup...

An acrylic painting I did inspired by Lupita Nyong'o and her cat Yoyo.

Lupita used to be afraid of cats ... until she had to act with a couple of cats in the movie, "A Quiet Place: Day One." After filming the movie, she adopted her own cat, Yoyo. She says she loves him fiercely.

I painted this using Golden acrylics. I used my airbrush to simulate Lupita's flawless complexion.

It kills me, because if I had all the know-how I have now 10 or so years ago, I'd probably be a millionaire artist today. It's gotten so hard. AI can create 3D models now, so people like you and I who can make molds are screwed.

I have a group of resin cats in my shop. Maybe you'd like one for your mantel? Each one is a handcrafted masterpiece. You can see them in my shop here: bazaar.brutalsun.com/collections/...

A hand made blue-point Himalayan cat figurine. I used an airbrush to paint her. The eyes, though. Those were painted with a tiny brush and a magnification visor.

A handmade feline fashion doll. She's cast from a shimmery rose gold resin, features a gold dress, and has hand-painted 6mm glass eyes.

A summer sun themed cat. She's a turquoise snowshoe colored cat with violet eyes. she has intricate handmade jewelry. I drew and hand cut the stencil I used to airbrush her "cutie mark". And then I threw the stencil away.

A simple, elegant little rose gold resin kitty. Handmade in Tucson Arizona.

well known. I'm pretty darn shy. I also quit promoting my work on the evil META-verse. This means you might be able to pick up an original painting from me at a sliver of the price of someone who has like 100K followers on Instagram. Sadly, skill doesn't sell art—popularity does.

I've been doing this a long time. Working hard. Selling low. Shipping fast in sturdy, clean packaging. The customers I do have are VERY loyal.

But dang if I can't use a few more customers, so I can keep on painting!

So by all means, check out this piece on my website. Better yet, join my non-spammy mailing list—you do that, a painting or resin you love is bound to pop up eventually. And it will probably be at a great price compared to similar work by more popular artists.

Anyhow, about this painting. I drew it digitally, in Krita. Then I painted it traditionally onto a 14"x11" MDF artist board using Golden acrylics. It features a fusion of airbrushing, stiff bristle brushes, and watery splatters/glazes.

I hope you like this adorable little alien encounter!

I painted Mothman re-imagined as a soft black kitty. Do you think he's going to pounce on the snail, or does he just want a garden friend? You can bid on this original painting here: bazaar.brutalsun.com/products/mot...

Mothman, re-imagined as a black kitty. He has fluffy antennas, and moth wings. He looks down at a garden snail. Tension is in the air. Will he pounce, or does he just want a friend? They are in a thick meadow full of wildflowers, backlight by late afternoon sunlight.

A Himalayan kitten with huge angry blue eyes fiercely protects her "baby", a pink kitty doll wearing pearls around its neck. The kitten sits on satin bedding. The color palette of this painting is very controlled, and not overly garish. The airbrushed shadows are soft, while some of the highlights are more painterly and expressive. This piece was painted with Golden acrylics.

Just sharing one of the fun cats I recently created. I had to make fake grass out of paper, because there is no grass in the desert where I live. Ya'll, I'm feeling so depressed this week. I'm sure other artists reading this can relate. It feels like no matter how ... (Continued in image ALT ➡️)

hard I work, or how smart I work, I just can't get by.

I love playing video games with what precious free time I can muster. You know why? Well aside from the fact that they take me out of this world, and put me into other worlds where I can forget my problems for awhile, it's that games reward me for my grind. Need a new weapon? I can grind in the game for it. Want a new outfit for my character? I can grind for it. Want a beautiful home for my character? I can build it; my Fallout characters have glorious estates!

None of this is true in real life. In real life, the grind is never enough. And I'm feeling so, so damn tired all the time. What's crazy is, the grind used to be enough. Hard work went a long way back in the day. I remember it. I was there. Twenty years ago, I'd list my art on Ebay, and people would fight over it. Nowadays, I work so hard, and am lucky to get $5 an hour. And my work takes so long to sell.

This world no longer rewards the grind. Or even working smart.

I hate it.

You know, I gave up on Meta a few years ago. It's better that way. I was one of those artists who'd post and post, and not get traction. When Zuck said LBGTQ folks wouldn't be protected there anymore and also said the office atmosphere at Meta was too "feminine", I left.
