Whitby Harbour, Captain Cook’s Ships: James Cook learned his seafaring trade in Whitby Harbour, and all four of the ships he used for his famous voyages of discovery (HMS Endeavour, Resolution, Adventure, and Discovery) were built right there in Whitby's shipyards.
