Our neighborhood streets weren't meant for interstate overflow. To compound the issue, two bridges in an adjacent neighborhood are closed for repairs, forcing two detours on the same streets. Not sure what the solution is, but it sure as hell isn't sustainable. Our neighborhood deserves better.

I actually use M5 5mm stainless steel grub screws. My bike has these black plastic hole covers that tend to fall out. I pop one of these in when I lose a cover. I'm in the US so I get mine from McMaster.

Our annual biketouring Great Allegheny Passage trail ride was last weekend. We rode 150mi over 3-1/2 days from Pittsburgh, PAto Cumberland, MD. It was awesome! I've ridden in fog, but this was a first riding in the clouds at 2000+ feet. #bikesky

So what I do is keep my thumb side of my hand on the hood, but open my hand up horizontally off the bar, sort of like when we put our hands out the car window as kids. Then I flex my hand into a concave position, fingers upward. After a few seconds, the numbness is gone.

My ride to the trail is 1.5mi downhill. My normal ride home is 800ft and 5mi of climbs of between 1/2mi 5% and 1/10mi 20%. Because of detours and closures, my alternate is now 7mi of assorted climbs, mostly in city traffic. What doesnt kill me makes me stronger. A1c down from 7.2 to 5.9 #bikesky

What a difference raising the seat 3/4" makes. I raised it with 10mi left on my ride and my cruising speed went up almost 2mph with little change in effort, and I jumped to my 3rd best time on my final route segment. I'll adjust the seat nose down and forward a smidge and I should be gold. #bikesky
