9. nature looks like a lot of different things. seagulls were poking around the post storm seaweed and decided they don't want the washed up fish.
a clear sky in the distance over a calm ocean, a small wave about to crash, seaweed on yhe Beach with a seagull turning its back on a dead fish. tire tracks and some rocks on the sand in the foreground

Balloons suck. I pulled this out of the ocean and deflated it and will bring it to the trash, but saw 2 more float by too far out to get them. Don't cause this.

I impatiently decided to start the area we want to be a butterfly garden without fully removing the grass over the weekend. I may regret this later, but I'm enjoying it so far.
some cosmos in bloom, and not in bloom milkweed, coneflower, bee balm, Joe pye weed (and one more I forgot the name of) planted at the base of a large vine covered tree. A vine covered hedge and fence in the background and lawn in the foreground.

somewhere out of sight, but nearby there are a lot of little robin mouths to feed. I have seen papa robin(s) pull dozens of worms out of the lawn lately and no matter how much peace and joy they provide, I have to spend time on other things besides watching wildlife behind my house

It's a presidential election year, but don't forget about local matters!! Local elections can happen at all different times in different places. My town has a bond vote for a new high school on Tuesday (after 3 weeks of early voting at town hall, which I did yesterday).
a tall white permanent sign for "Town Hall, South Kingstown, Rhode Island, Incorporated 1723, 180 High St, Wakefield R.I., Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm" and a temporary blue lawn sign that says "Vote here" and "Vote aquí" with an arrow to the left in front of a large flowering tree and a bed of tulips in a lawn with moss patches and dandelions

this design-as-I-go no-sew attempt at a foldable tote is coming along okay so far; only a little wonky and plenty of room for the actual bag part to be stuffed inside.

upside to leaving the house not in a rush on my way to work: I drive past the early voting location in town. no lines, ftw

NSBE pinned astronaut Victor Glover as a lifetime member and gave him a NSBE patch for his uniform, that NASA approved, that he will wear into space in September.

I need to leave for the airport in ~3 hours and have not packed, but I have no food left in my house and writing is important, so I'm at my neighborhood Cafe anyway.

today's means of coping with my brain deciding spring break means no work instead of only important work as I had planned was watching the bees enjoy the crocuses in my yard that spread from my neighbor's yard through the stone wall.

One of my top goals for 2024 is to actually see the trout using this fish ladder.
