Ethan Sawyer asked 20 college admissions officers about students using AI, and the word that came up most often was "don't." Ethan is better known as the College Essay Guy, and we talked about what those admissions counselors actually want to see, a 10-minute trick […] [Original post on zirk.us]

#bikemn #BikeTooter Went to BikeMN.org Kate Bike Fall Fest today. Will the rain and mist ever end? I think a lot of people did not come today due to the wet weather. I passed on the 44mile gravel and did a 25 mile paved instead and am glad for it. I am so tired […] [Original post on mastodon.scot]

A friend of mine is the head cook at a school I got this from them today. A student comes up to grab a roll and says "Why is there a bite taken out of every roll? " I said when the rolls bake and proof they expand and touch and then when I pull it apart those […] [Original post on mastodon.scot]

@NNN I dislike the weight penalty but I still go with the iso-butane stove over alcohol. There’s just not enough calories to heat as much stuff as I want

@NNN Is that what's in those things? I've got a larger new one that uses liquid containers and it works like a charm. Maybe I should find the little old one with pads and see if this works.

The Priority is in the LBS for major repair work so pulled the old Bianchi out and trying to ride it feels like a unicycle compared to the 600. But it’s so light! Checked out the newest section of the Mill Towns State Trail in Northfield out to the old […] [Original post on mastodon.scot]

Been taking a break from news feeds. Catching up today. When did the BBC put in a paywall on their RSS? Oh, it’s for North America only. Oh well, one less to worry about.

took advantage of a great summer day yesterday and rode the Root River and Preston-Harmony trails for a 60 mile loop between Fountain to the IA border. The rains have not been kind to the trails in general and the Preston-Harmony portion needs a lot of repair […] [Original post on mastodon.scot]

Been a long time since I’ve been in conditions like this, temp 80F and dew point 79F at 0630 in south central Minnesota. Saving grace if any is the winds will be going along at a good clip. Gonna be some very short dog walks today. #noaa #climeatechange #MNastodon

Hello Minnesota bike folks. Last year someone posted about a bike packing trip that used a city campground in one of the western Minneapolis suburbs. Which I now can’t remember. I need a place to lay up heading north from Rice Co. If you have any places to suggest please post. Thanks #MNastodon […]

$40 billion to Argentina, $300 billion to Iran, trillions in corporate welfare and Trump tax cuts to billionaires. Don't ever let them tell you again that the USA cannot afford universal health care.
