I've decided to take a social media break. I'm not sure of the length just yet, but I'm aiming for 3-12 months. SM feels like a chore right now, the main reason for the hiatus. I did decide however that I'll be deleting my Bluesky permanently. While lovely, BS just isn't for me.

I hate it there so much. I'm not "good" at social media and being punished for that sucks so much. I miss the days when you could just scroll and see everyone's posts. I luckily have a lovely community of mutuals and folks I follow so it's pretty nice in that regard. Otherwise it's just a pit.

When the 3d printer suddenly acts up after printing something just fine and you must spend hours trying to remember how to run tests and in what sequence and discover the probe height is mysteriously high but also one side of the print bed seems weirdly off and this is Christmas damnit-

2025 sucked for many of us and while I worry, I certainly hope it gets better. I didn't get a lot made this year, just one full cosplay and a few side projects. I'm hoping next year I can craft more AND enter horse shows! My 2025 accomplishments and my 2026 goals!

2025 achievements:

I'm now in Masters category!?

Finished the Gerudo and sand seal

My horse, Mo, got high point in halter and won a buckle.

Went to 4 of 5 planned conventions.

Made three wigs with all different technical skills.

Cosplay resolutions for 2026:

Photoshoots with my husband

Make more props

Get comfortable with armor/prop patterning

Craft more, dream less

Finally make Satori lol

Idk if I was brand new to this hobby I would have been devastated. 3d printing has its place but to me it doesn't take over scratch building. Also were they just jealous, rude, or did they actually think they were being helpful? No idea. But don't do that.

This happened a while ago and it still haunts me. My prop making skills aren't great but it's something I really didn't get to learn during my first stint in the hobby. I've been back for four years and I STILL haven't made many props. But my newest ones look miles better than my first.

Just finished Digimon: Time Stranger and I can say a) best Digimon game I've personally played and b) while not the best jrpg I sure had a lot of fun. I've never been the most dedicated Digimon fan but I really love the designs and had so much fun discovering new Digimon.

I'm finally starting my official prop for this- an actual sand seal! She's just a tiny one lol. Anyway I patterned this via tape and hope; it came out pretty good! The only part I've had to really figure out is the face, since the model I printed was so small lol.

Hi, I need recommendations for new lights for my craft room, possibly for craft streaming as well. I'm thinking of Neewer panel lights as I've heard those are good, especially if I can get some that attach to booms so I can place them over my work area. But recs would be highly welcome.

Giving serious thought to taking a year off from social media. It would kinda break my heart because I love seeing my mutuals and their work. Some folks I would miss talking to, celebrating for, etc. Not having access to photographer and con updates would also be a little tough.

I find it hard to do shoots in general on our own because of where we live. You want some hills or scrub oak? Sure. You want literally anything else? Good luck, you must travel a minimum of 2-4 hours. How do people do this part of the hobby lol.

I'm bummed out, had to cancel a shoot with the fall leaves in Portland. Our area is just kinda... scrub trees? They don't really change color. So finding a place to shoot fall themes that's actually pretty is tough.
