Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Totally agree re BSG, but can’t deal with limiting the list to 21st C. shows. I want a greatest of all time list and to get into fights about that. My hard question is whether Green Acres is all-time number 1 and Hill St. Blues is number 2, or vice versa. Hard call 000

Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 07/08/2026You are welcome to rely on them as much as you like, or as much as your profession requires. I, for one at least, am putting all polls on ignore. 100
Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 07/08/2026Sorry, but what I see is that the polls are very wrong as often as they are right. Maybe that means that *on average* they are reasonably right. What it means to me is that my reaction to a poll is the same as my reaction to a weather forecast — “we’ll see how things actually end up”. 100
Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 06/08/2026Sorry, but I call bullshit on that. The Michigan Senate race is just the latest example. 100
Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 06/08/2026It’s not just caveats about polling from one particular company, it’s caveats — huge ones — about all polls from all polling companies. I don’t understand why people still rely on them for anything. At this point they are all just a little bit of data and a lot of assumptions and guesswork. 100

Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 19/07/2026Brilliant!! I would give anything to see Phyllis Diller as a Vorta! The Mel Brooks movie idea is inspired! And pairing Lee Marvin with Don Knotts? Chef’s kiss! 010
Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Well what about the Federation naming the station “Deep Space Nine”? Sure, the station was far from Earth, but to the Bajorans, it was local (in orbit above the planet until it was moved to the wormhole). On the other hand, the Bajorans never seemed to object to the name. #StarTrek #Ds9 310
Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 07/04/2026Ok, I’m old enough to remember watching Michigan make it to the final game of the tournament in 1976 against Indiana. Enjoyed it so much that I convinced my dad to buy season tickets the next year! 171
Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 06/04/2026Does WordPerfect still have the Reveal Codes functionality? That was always the best way to avoid having the system format your work in a way you don’t want! 100
Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 23/03/2026Another Michigan contribution to the world of sports. Remember that it was the Fab 5 that made the change from short shorts to baggies, and it was a big deal at the time. Sort of like JFK refusing to wear a fedora to his inauguration, and suddenly every man was leaving his hat at home! 100

Barry Rosenfeld @brosenfeld.bsky.social · 11/03/2026I speak positively of this “stunt”. Seriously, what could possibly be said negatively about cramming a whole bunch of Oscar winning movies into 31 days? The worst thing about it is that I can’t keep up with all the movies I want to see. 130
